Aye, I didn't know that's what Hamas stands for either.. and without any clarification from the GB its safe to assume they chose that wording deliberately..

And it can't be argued Hamas have made things intrinsically worse for the normal people of Gaza. We all know its complicated but without going into too much detail in this thread, the whole region is ready to explode with the US and Russia likely to wade in..

Which makes this debate/issue completely irrelevant in the scheme of things.

It was all over the news when we simply flew the Palestinian flag against Hapoel Beer Sheva. Then we were fined by UEFA for flying the flag. Another hypocritical bunch of * in all honesty.

No it isn't, but people may associate us with supporting the bludgeoning of civilians and supporting Hamas. That is extremist political views.

I think people are forgetting what the media and a lot of this country actually think about us as a fanbase anyway. The media hate us, and much of the country saw us as terrorist sympathisers prior to Saturday. That’s not changed since then.

Yep you're correct, I've said the banner was silly and just flags would of done or a better banner and I've also said the GB don't represent me or the club or all of the fans. People also need to grasp that. People who want to villanize our support do anyway

Will it hurt the club in the long run? Probably not mate, as many many many times before the Israeli army will smash the living * out of
Palestine and it will be all forgotten about till something bad happens a non Palestinian again

both sides have committed atrocities. I have sympathy for the innocent on both sides, but why this incessant need to get involved at all? Forgive me, but raising banners in support of an organisation that has just beheaded women and children and, more importantly, has absolutely nothing to do with me or Celtic, is incredibly poor taste and benefits the club in no shape or form.

People can think what they want mate, most do anyway. If they bothered to read this forum or the thousands of other Celtic fans sickened by what's happened on both sides I might care what they think. They don't, they judge us all by one small groups banner..

That was rightly seen as a show of support for the Palestinian people, and one I fully support. Agree re UEFA

Also there has been thousands upon thousands of people from all walks of life in most major cities all across the globe that have come out in support of Palestine in the last few days... it's not that radical...

At this point the green brigade are becoming a liability to the reputation of our club. ‘Glory to the resistance’ on the same day that same ‘resistance’ beheaded children and executed women of all ages is sickening, the timing of it honestly makes it look like our fan base supported the action even if we did not, it’s incredibly bad optics

I think alot of people especially those sitting on the fence about the GB are starting to feel this way.

Does anyone think the board might think the same and say right * this, this lot are worth more trouble than they are worth and ban them? No idea how tickets are allocated in that section but I'm sure the board could make it difficult for them.

Tbh us as a support should stop giving a * what the media thinks of us, could not give one single * the opinions of any media or any other fanbase.

It's also plausible that the name Hamas includes the word "resistance" for the exact same reason that the banner did. It goes without saying that my views on Hamas are fully in line with yours even without last weekend.

I don't know, mate, I can see your point of view, but I personally just can't believe that the GB would have wanted to display support for Hamas and what they did. I genuinely can't.

I can see them supporting the attack on military posts and even military hostages (and you and I might disagree on the legitimacy of that I suspect), but only that.

What I will say is that if it turns out I'm wrong and that they really did want to show support for the full horror of what Hamas did, you won't find me ever defending the group again.

They certainly don't speak for me or the vast majority of Celtic fans I've spoken to. Wouldn't surprise me if the club disband the section, which is a shame as they greatly add to the match experience when they leave all this nonsense out.

No one is denying this. I think what we are saying is that why get involved at all? There are no winners here. Both sides have committed horrible acts. There will be condemnation against both sides. There is absolutely no upside to sticking your head above the parapet here.

That's an interesting set of words you e just used. In an ideal world, send America in to wipe out Hamas with very few civilian deaths! Ridiculous and disgusting IMO! That's like send in the Americas to wipe out the provos just because they have killed innocent people.

Anyone in Hamas did not create the conditions for them to do this. Israel stays out of palastine, this * doesn't happen!

I do agree America should step in but only to create peace between the two. Not go in and wipe one side out because they retaliated against the brutality that has been inflicted on them for 70years!

What happens if you do get your way! America goes in, wipes out Hamas then what! The Israeli scum will still continue to bombard Palastine whenever they feel like it!

In order to save Palestinian lives. It's politically impossible anyway.
