Nothing wrong with your reply. I'm just not surprised by his words.

Fit male, thus served in the IDF. Jewish. It's the side he was born in. Is he brainwashed? Probably. Rockets have been falling on his country, and he feels angry.

I, as a more neutral person, can see what you do. Hamas are barbaric, but their soldiers are forged out of misery and grief. I wish they would avoid killing civilians in settlements when they take control, and especially avoid rape. But, I doubt they'll behave. Same for IDF soldiers who will barge into Gaza.

    I prefer Fatah, BTW.

Aye, but you said 'focus your outrage on who are responsible for this' that's not that simple, it's a complex situation.. did you mean we were to focus our anger on Hamas for the last couple of days or on Israel for their crimes since their inception?

OK, fair point. I meant anyone who can plausibly be argued to bear some responsibility: London and Washington, Israeli governments, the MSM (and to a lesser extent Berlin, Paris and Moscow). Different people might argue or allocate different amounts of responsibiliry to these, but all are broadly speaking plausibly responsible.

To take Ukraine as an analogy, Moscow bears most of the responsibility; but the US government does too. To a lesser extent European governments and the CCP. It's legitimate to post tweets directed at any of these; but attacking Russian sports stars who defend their country's repitation is just unfair and counterproductive.

More for the GB, when they get behind the team brilliantly and doing great work with the foodbank s , but when they start aw there who can and who can’t support the club because of their political views a can’t be arsed with it, * hate the Tories with a passion but celtic is a club for all and personally don’t think it’s my right or any other fans right to say who’s welcome to celtic park and who isn’t because of their political views

Got to agree with this. Having lived in Israel, the Israelis are very proud people who are constantly under attack (I'm not taking sides here, I'm just explaining that they're living under constant attack unlike us here..and of course so are the Palestinians). His country and people are currently being murdered and we fly a banner saying get in there lads kill them all..I get why he's angry...at the same time...this is a club that was born from a history of dark oppression against our people, so as a fan base we totally get the Palestinian cause.

It's just one big eff up really.

In other news, I used to work for the BBC Arabic service at the World Service, Radio. They often reported on Celtic's support for the Palestinians, so maybe in the future we should 'branch out' a bit with our signings lol. To be honest, I'm surprised it's taken this long for this issue to have kicked off.

Don’t think poor Rod mate, a love coming to celtic park like yesterday to see my team that I was brought up with my dad to support, going with my mates and their kids watching them playing good football for 90 minutes, as I said love the way GB get behind the team, the foodbank s they do, also love the banners slagging the Huns, but just me personally the last thing I would to talk about or hear is * politics

So because someone has a different political view that spoils yer match day atmosphere.

Politics has been a part of Celtic football club for the very first day.

As much as people like to dismiss it

Just my opinion mate, it doesn’t spoil my day in the slightest just can’t be arsed with it,was started to help the poor Irish Catholic immigrants who came over because of the famine, both my grandparents were Irish and part of that, but I’ve also got Protestant mates who are Celtic daft , quite proud of the fact we aren’t a shower of staunch bitter horrible cuntz like the mob in govan, and we are a welcoming friendly club for all

I tend to take the opposite view: if the club represent the community, as Tommy Burns said, how can that be divorced from politics? There's a long history connecting football with politics for both good and ill (from Apartheid South Africa, The Soviet Union, to the ubiquitous anti-racism stuf and support for Ukraine in the modern day). This makes sense to me: we're kept so isolated from each other and effective politics requires collective action. Football clubs are one of the remaining places we come together.

I don't think it is totally performative from the GB either. If I remember rightly, they organise events to try and help refugees and other migrants integrate into the local community and I'd be very surprised if they don't see their food drives as a political act rather than an act of charity.

For him to say why were you quiet the 9 years I was there points to a lack of education on his part not the Celtic fans.

If he was unaware that we as a support have a general empathy for the Palestinians cause then he’s a stupid *.
