One of my fav players ever, absolute total class.

For his size one of the best ball players I've ever saw.

So many great memories he gave me.

So glad to hear of his family additions and wish him and all his family all the best.

We've been fortune to enjoy an incredible last 10 or 11 years as celtic fans and had so many amazing moments but for me his goal v the sheep to clinch the treble is the absolute highlight of the last decade.

1 of my absolute favourite celtic players and still gutted he left when he did but makes a lot more sense now. A class act on and off the pitch and is no suprise to see such a classy gesture from him in terms of retiring to be with his family. Wish him and his family all the best.

Hopefully he'll make an appearance in a legends game in the future, would love to see him in the hoops 1 more time.

I wonder why he went to West Brom? Always found it a strange one. Was pretty decent again in his final season here too but I’m sure he had his reasons.

Great to see he got his family issues resolved and credit to the board on helping.

As someone who loosely followed European football, I was well aware of Celtic and the size of of the club, but it was Tom joining Celtic that cemented me following Celtic forever. Now I hardly miss a game even though the timing of the games is so far removed from a normal time for me to be awake.

So to Tom, firstly, thank you for making me become a Celtic supporter. Secondly, thank you so much for all the enjoyable memories, watching your footwork would boggle me, let alone the opposition, the mazy runs were next level. Thirdly, the goals, so, so, so many crackers but to me it always ends with the Cup final v the sheep as my favourite.

Thank you Tom, good luck with your family and your future, hopefully one day I get to walk past you in the street and give you a Hail, Hail :ynwacelti

Aff yer high horse mate, retiring at 30 is odd for a footballer, regardless of having kids or whatever. Obviously it's surprising.

Not really, but at a push I would say Sydney FC because that’s where I’m from. Sometimes I get into the season down here, and other times I just blank it. It’s a different pace down here because it’s mostly played through summer and all our good players get scooped up and off to Europe after a good season, so it’s just different.

I do find it interesting though, some who struggle to make it in their home country come here and thrive, while others do a Dunk and stink the place out.

Steve Bruce said they had tried sign Tom early in that transfer window but that they were beat to it by another team (didn't say who) and was suprised to find out that Tom had pulled out of that move and was still free in September so went in for him again. Probably happened around the same time as he had to pull out of the Socceroos squad for personal reasons (and now have a good idea what the reasons were which we didn't before as he said he and his wife had suffered further heartache since having their daughter)

I think by the time September came by with the Socceroos boss publicly piling pressure on him to he fit for the WC he just had to accept whatever move was available to him that late. But it was obvious his heart wasn't in it and then that bell end Arnold didn't even select him.

To be fair, would you select him if his heart wasn't in it. There's no place for sentiment in football if you need to win.

I meant as the season progressed it was obvious he was only at West Brom because he was under pressure from Armold to be fit for the WC and yes I would have selected him. There is no defending Arnolds behaviour toward Tom last year.

To be fair, his full career has never followed the way of normal players. He got his big chance via a Nike tournament, he came to Celtic and got sent on loan to Australia and Japan, and then became a key player for us. Nothing in his career was stereotypical for a footballer.

Take your green tinted glasses off. Tom rogic didn't do much at west brom to warrent a place on the world cup team.

I'm not denying he was a very good player for us, scored many an important goal but if the Aussie manager didn't see him preforming well for his club, he doesn't deserve to go to the world cup.

Agree with you, mate, love big Tam and I wish him and his family all the best and I dare say going through the IVF journey couldn’t have been easy for him or any couples going through that journey, but as lesso rdyne said was playing the best football of his career, quite surprised retiring at 30, seen players like tony Mowbray, Tommy coyne Gary Mcallister etc losing their wives when they were still playing, heartbreaking and sad as * but they realised unfortunately life goes on and continued their football career s, even sadder was the boy luis Enrique losing his wee girl to cancer at 9 years old, absolutely heartbreaking, but after a terrible time grieving find most players and managers like to get back to what they love and were good at.

Wasn’t even playing well enough at West Brom to get a start with them, never mind the international team , think he scored 1 goal in about 25 appearances mostly off the bench, Tbf in true rogic was a peach of goal

He isn't grieving though, he wants to do what he loves and that's being a parent. If I had the money to quit working when my son was born I * would have.

Think that’s when I started working when my son was born, know what you’re saying mate, but I take it you’re not doing a job that you love and would probably do for nothing, probably every guy in the team loves being a father but also love mixing it with a career that they enjoy and are getting paid mega bucks to do it
