Oh Hyeon-gyu

I'd be 100% loaning him out in January, I think all he needs is some game-time.

I'd love to see him played on the wing or alongside Kyogo up front, I just don't think throwing him on for the final 5-10 minutes as a replacement for Kyogo is going to work.

 

Looked * off, can't blame him with the lack of game time.

 

I do feel sorry for him as he is not getting game time, but he doesn’t fill me with confidence.

 

Nah, that sums him up entirely for me. If you have anything about you as a footballer, that is a simple pass out to the right for the fasat wingman to let him go 1v1. Instead he inexplicable kicks it about 20 ft round the attacker directly in front of him, standing still so he can't even chase it and it goes to another defender anyway.

I thought he might have something about him, but now I dread to see him touch the ball. There is a reason Rodgers is putting him on in the 88th minute.

EDIT - desperately need another player signed as 2nd striker for me.

Aye I 100% get that. Clear lack of confidence but was still so poor when trying to make an impact..

For example, Yang made a bit more of an impact in the same time..

 

Don't think Rogers rates him and wouldn't be surprised another striker came in on January

 

I'd expect him to be able to look remotely like a person that plays football for a living and a South Korean international at that.

 

In his favour though he did put away chances for us when given them last season, one or two important goals too if I recall correctly. The header v Hibs as an example.

 

If we sign another striker in January he is going to be in the same position as Oh. If Kyogo is fit he starts every game. Ideally the day we could have scored a 3rd goal earlier and gave Oh at least half an hour but it didn't pan out that way. The only way the boy will improve is by getting more game time.

 

In some of the pre season games he did some really good work going out wide on the wings, so I wouldn't be against seeing him get some proper game time out there to see what he can do.

He isn't *. He's just struggling due to a lack of game time and has no confidence..

 

Rodgers must not like him, should have been on at HT today really. International break coming up and he's only played about 90 minutes this season, another 2 week break. Be nearly Halloween and he's hardly kicked a ball.

He was gutted as well when he never got the shout when the first subs were coming on, him Forrest, Phillips and whoever were warming up together and Rodgers shouted and pointed down and the subs were trying to work out who was getting on and it was Forrest and I cant even mind who else came on but Rodgers was like that "no yous two at the end in 5 minutes".

Oh probably bealing thinking fucksake not getting on till the death again as they weren't even early subs was nearly the 70th minute at that stage.

 

I know he’s not getting much minutes but I think as a striker that’s how it is when the team you’re playing in has a top striker you will be less likely to start games n get as much minutes but YOU HAVE to make the minutes you do get count and take your chances to prove yourself. This is what I have t seen yet from him, difference in someone like him and GG is that GG took his chances or came on and made a noticeable impact which would then lead to him seeing more game time and more often than not took his chances and got us goals. I agree also that oh is more of a project than GG but that being the case we need a better striker in who can come on and be counted from the bench. Strikers come off the bench to score and create goals after all whatever time they have when they’re subbed.

 

He was getting more minutes and contributing well last season, coming on at 80+ minutes is no use to anyone, it gives him no real chance to get up and running, and it's not like taking Kyogo off that late in the game is doing anything to rest/protect him for the next one either, changing around the 60-70 minute mark would benefit both.

 

See if I had the power, I’d just ban negative * who lack any substance.

Place would be far happier.

He's definitely struggling but I disagree with reasons why
