It's cuntish but players are a nightmare in these times for us. Soon as they make sort of a name, they want away for bigger wages although can you blame them. It's just * and can't really build a quality team like you say to compete in the CL.

Anyone got the highlights. I was at the match. Took the younglad over. Another amazing trip from what I remember from it. Didn't get to Glasgow till near 4am on Wednesday morning. Delayed flight fs.

Wouldn't mind seeing some highlights if anyone has them.

Spot on here, I think it has become a mentality thing for some of the players particularly those who have been tarnished with European failure for a few seasons now.

We do lack that bit of quality and probably more so than last year with Jota away. We always seem to have half a defence too for these games. But with each passing defeat it clearly is playing on the players minds.

We are the slightest of touches rules out our goal and O’Riley standing in a wide stance plays Pedro on for theirs. Said it in another post I would genuinely be happy if we just get a win out of this group to stop the nonsense about how long it’s been.

I don't even think it can be argued against mate, just look at our goal. Slick movement, incisive passing and a cool finish. It was a moment of pure quality, and proves we can turn it on against good teams.

Last night was the perfect opportunity for us to start building confidence by getting a win. We fell short, again, but it wasn't caused by inferior players, that to me is an easy excuse. Blame the board and all that. Lazy argument.

Think people take that as me not wanting better players but that's not the case. If Rodgers is here for the 3 years he's signed for I guarantee you we will bring in some cracking players, improve ones already here, and also get some good results in Europe.

I just feel, like yourself, our euro record is weighing heavily on the players, not helped by the edginess of the fans in the stadium. Get that monkey off our back and it will make a huge difference going forward.

The team needs a sports psychologist if Rodgers is unable to get them mentally prepared for the game.

Think that's the most annoyed I've ever been after a European game given how it ended. We must be the only side in Europe who often has more shots on target yet can't win a game, it's not like we're being dominated.

Looking like Feyenoord is our only realistic chance of a win now, likely be a dead-rubber.

That’s exactly why it was was. We were able to dominate a lot of the game, but we lacked the quality to win it. It’s the same story every single year when it comes to Europe mate. Until we give ourselves the best chance to go forward in Europe by getting the adequate backing based on our finances, then it very much falls back on the board. We came out the summer transfer window weaker than we went into it, whilst being in the best financial position we have been in ever. That’s down to the backing that came from the board and it was unforgivable.

Yet if meadas toenail never got in the way we had the qaulity to win the game.

On song we more than have the qaulity. Keep these players for 3 seasons and they will all be good enough. Its the fact we don't keep the players that are hitting the heights we want that kills us. Jota started really shining last season and sold. I bet matt will start performing and developing to the player we need and watch him be sold without the opportunity to perform for us at that level. Thats the real issue.

If we hadn’t conceded a sloppy set piece goal we might have won the game. If we had better quality in the wide areas we might have created more chances for Kyogo who was feeding off scraps most of the night. If we had signed a proper defensive midfielder we might have controlled the game better after we went ahead. If we had signed a better left back they might not have got as much joy down that side and we might have been better going forward. If ma auntie had baws, she would be my uncle basically.

Your second point is the same for a lot of clubs throughout Europe. That’s what our model is all about. Buy players, make a profit on them. The problem is, that model has to progress. As we start commanding higher fees, the transfer fees we pay in order to replace they players has to increase also. That’s where we have fallen flat on our puss again. We had a player we signed for circa £1.5m on the park to replace our £25m departed winger. Is it any wonder there was a massive drop in quality?

O’Riley may well leave for big money, that’s the nature of football. See if we go and try and replace him with a player that costs £1m, the chances are we will see a huge drop in quality again.

We should have been bringing in 3/4 players in the summer in the £5-8m bracket in my opinion. We chose to scatter the fees over a lot of players though. We went for quantity ahead of quality.

Glasgow Celtic IF Fc ya should call us from now on. Or Glasgow Celtic If But Fc. * desperate it is, it's always ifs and buts with us. I hate walking out of that stadium and traveling home next day with same old excuses.

Well pre var days that's a win. Simple. Although pre var days we would've just sat back and defended with the odd scurry forward from samaras. I'll take how we play now over that. I want to watch football, not a bus.

Don't be surprised thou if we win against A.madrid. I know we've a terrible record in recent years but football being football, we're due a win against a bigger team. On the night anything can happen. I know it's unlikely but looking at that group it's still wife open. We get lucky and beat Madrid then draw against Lazio away and back to parkhead for feyenoord then I think it's all to play for.

Yeah totally understand. Said same thing to the mates about pre var. Listen , I was sickened by that result on Wednesday. 3 days off work for it, took the younglad with me , great trip away it was for us all again and to walk out of the stadium like that was definitely a sore one. Ruined a great day for us all. It's cuntish but our luck should change soon enough. Hopefully anyway. I'm over again in few weeks and expecting a result against Madrid. Stranger things has happened in football and it's not that big of a task IMO.

We made feyenoord look average. Yes we lost 2 players then we messed up.

They made Madrid look average tbh. I believe we can get something from these two games. Not all hopes lost yet.

Lazio, like every other team we play now, targeted our weakest link - LB. Everyone knows that we haven't replaced KT and, as a result, will struggle down our left side. We are also still suspect to cross balls/set pieces (which is another area we still haven't addressed) and I don't get in the least bit excited when we get a corner/set piece as we never capitalise from them. Finally, we are not streetwise in Europe. Our players should have surrounded the ref when Hatate was skelped in the face as it might have put some pressure on the ref and VAR team to look at the incident and we need to stop fannying about at the back against a better standard of opposition than we get in our domestic league.

Yep, all's not lost. Untill it's over its not over for me. That's the joys of football. Ccv will be up to speed to instead of thrown in first game back. There's hope

Really something we need to work on! Anytime we did get one, I said to my son nothing going to happen here. All wasted. Wasn't it last time Rodgers was here, we didn't score from a corner for a ridiculous amount of games. Maybe even a season if my memory serves me right.

I disagree mate, I get the argument yourself and others are making, we fell short in the window quality-wise there's no denying that. There are different reasons for that imo, not all of them are the fault of the board, but that's a different argument again.

Just making the point that we were good enough to get a win the other night, the fact we never isn't all down to Peter Lawwell sitting on a pile of gold like that big dragon out The Hobbit.

The fact you are agreeing we fell short in terms of quality during the summer window whilst literally sitting on a pile of gold like we are would suggest otherwise. What a chance to progress given the group. We will never know what success could have looked like, because the proper backing never came. As it never does in all honesty. There’s always an excuse for it not to happen.
