Are you a psychologist perhaps? You seem like someone trying to get people out of depression. I see only one positive: Furuhashi scored in the CL.

Thought we were better than Lazio, the midfield worked well and we looked more likely in the 2nd..

Palma almost wins it for us..

Rodgers tactics were sound with what he's got to work with.

They had the best chance in the second half (Anderson) and overall weren't under grave threat. If we couldn't keep a draw when Lazio were starting to already defend the point, then it is an overwhelmingly negative outlook.

Rodgers has Iwata to work with, yet he refused to use him. Team isn't trained to properly use Oh when he is on.

I've banged the Iwata drum, but both Ange and Rodgers don't seem to rate..

Oh, hasn't had enough game time for anyone to get used to.

Really, think we were incredibly unlucky last night, but there's no denying if we'd added where we needed to in the summer, we may have made our own luck.

But, like I say Rodgers is doing fine with this team we just need to create a little more, but that will come.

We were unlucky with the Palma goal not counting, I agree. But, Rodgers failed to set clear guidelines that would maximize our defensive ability. I blame him for our defenders acting wrong with the ball at their feet, and not acting in a manner that favors our quick front 3 whenever possible.

He is stubborn. And that's why I'm pessimistic. Oh, and Celtic fans in Scotland don't seem willing to pressure the board by cancelling ST-s or Celtic TV subscriptions.

It's very early in his tenure, we've had disappointment in both CL gamda so far, domestically has been quite a strong start..

I blame the board for not strengthening properly but why would people hand in season tickets etc? We just won a treble, our 5 in 7 yrs, appointed a high calibre coach who has already won important games domestically this season..

    We're hardly in crisis..

Blaming Rodgers on that last night is mental. We were the better team. He had us set up fairly well with the players available. Made more or less the right call on the team and good subs, we were unlucky that maeda stuck his toe to the ball for palmas goal to be ruled offside. Then Carter vickers after been defending well makes a blunder and it leads to a goal, it’s not rodgers fault CCV decided to try hold onto the ball rather than pass it. Was a poor mistake from him and the first goal was poor man marking and reactions from a set piece. Rodgers set us up well, the players unfortunately let us down even though they were mostly the better side, lack of quality and experience in the team ultimately

Why would they hand ST-s in? Well, you have a whole thread on the last transfer window where people are moaning about the transfer policy. If something is not done, then we'll get zero points in Europe next season, too. Because Rodgers won't adapt to what he has.

    Aye, we can moan, justifiably...

Doesn't mean we withdraw our support..

We stil have 4 games in this European Campaign too.. so its certainly not certain we'll end with zero points..

Rodgers has done fine so far and we'll only get better, there's little to warrant withdrawing our support for the club.. 7pts ahead already, good wins at Aberdeen, Huns, Livi, Motherwell and an encouraging performance last night..

Rodgers is going nowhere, may as well get behind him, hopefully the board will too.

I separate Rodgers from the board in terms of blame. I think those who support Rodgers can still withdraw money from the club- because it's the board who need to be punished for their stinginess. As for Rodgers, he carries blame for sticking to tactical ideas which do not work with the available players, and failing to recognize some long-standing issues with the squad (for example- McGregor is not a destroyer).

    * the board and Rodgers.

I don't know if I'm making this up but didn't lawell or a manager say once before that just playing in champions league is a bonus ?

I think they have said this or words like it but even if they haven't our attitude as a club cements this

I ain't happy about Rodgers reappointment it means the squad isnt appropriate to his style so they are out and new ones in for a style that ain't gonna work in Europe but the board and Rodgers knows this he was brought in to win domestically, Europe is a cherry especially the money

The tactics were fine last night, we were a whisker away from victory..

Aye, the board doesn't always seem to share our ambition and we've been a shambles in Europe..

However, history will show this period as total domination, 5 trebles, 4 of them in a row, a period where we will overtake the joint trophy hall of both entities.. even though they had cheated their way to several titles and have been aided by officials since our conception..

Could things be better? Always, but I'm * enjoying our domination and long may it continue.

If a store sells amazing shirts and terrible trousers, should you stop buying the shirts or the trousers? It makes no sense to stop buying season tickets and all the sense in the world to threaten not to buy CL tickets if things don't improve.

Just asking thw question but is it really as simple as Rodgers not being backed though?

I mean, he had hella more resources at Liverpool and yet that didn't exactly help. Indeed, there is no getting away from his record in the CL and it cannot be ignored...
    • 12 CL group stage matches as Liverpool boss. 1 win.
    • 8 CL group stage matches as Celtic boss. 1 win.

You're a * maniac. Rodgers is not to blame for CCV having a brain fart and we more than held out own against a team whose budget dwarves ours.

We sold our star Winger for £25 million and he was given projects instead.

We sold one of our star CB'S and he was given projects instead.

We've lost both CCV and Abada to lengthy injuries, and only just got Hatate back.

He rates Bernabei so low he isn't even in the CL squad, yet we didn't sign a LB to challenge Taylor, who doesn't really fit in his system.

Rodgers and his system aren't perfect, but I think it's clear to say he hasn't been backed.

Not disputing your point @HTG but my point is, even when he had all the resources at his disposal at Liverpool it still only resuled in 1 CL group stage win in 12 attempts. There are managers and teams who have worked with less than what BR has, both at LFC as well as with us, and have better records than what BR has. Let's not put this entirely on the Board or the players, he has to take a fair bit of responsibility for this situation also.
