Maybe he was just not that good to begin with, or he's a young player and will have these large inconsistent patches.

 

He just needs time unfortunately, he doesn’t look fully fit yet but needs to find his form soon.

 

Only watched on TV but thought he looked absolutely diabolical.

So frustrating as he we know he's got the ability to shine at this level. Heads to get his head in the game quickly.

 

Still think he's a cracking player but don't think anyone will deny he's struggling for form.

 

Some of his play was alright but he has a habit of playing really dodgy passes inside sometimes, or even back. It's weird man, did it at least once last night, like a first time pass and he blasts it straight to them. Sometimes his control and vision is as good as anyone at the club, but he's definitely not at the top of his game at the moment. Hopefully improves in time.

 

He's turning 26 in a few weeks.

Hatate is a real wasted jersey when he's having a bad game. Gives the ball away constantly, offers nothing

feels like he's beginning to go into the Ntcham category for me. The talent is clear as day for all to see but doesn't show anywhere near it for large spells. Infuriating player

 

Totally agree with the post from Ardis 1967, there is a very talented player there but in the past 6 months his form has been poor, it seems like he doesn’t want to be here but why would you sign a new contract?

 

Because he would have been offered a large pay rise for essentially adding a year to his deal. It doesn’t mean he stays that time.

I would be very surprised if he doesn’t find form at some point and is gone by end of next Summer.

In addition, perhaps there wasn’t any real interest in him during the summer for what we were looking for to sell.

 

signing a new deal will mean his market value has increased and on current form there is no incentive for a buying club to spend big on the guy due to his current form, we all know there is a top grade player their but he has to get his form back first.

 

People making excuses for him and saying he's not fully fit yet may be right but to be honest I don't really see much different with him.

Even last season this was his typical performance. He has a strong 1st 20 mins, is then blowing out his * and can do * all right, then gets a 2nd wind just before half time where he usually does something good, scores or assists, then get a good 10 mins after half time followed by an absolutely disasterous 10 min spell were he is completely * and gives it away constantly until he is subbed.

That’s two in two games now with the Penalty shout on Maeda being turned away against Feyenoord which was pretty blatant too.

Not to mention VAR upholding the penalty award even though there was no contact with the guys face or chance he was getting the ball.

Very likely we'd be sitting at 4 points minimum if the officials did their jobs in awarding us the penalty in Rotterdam and sending the left back off first half last night..

I genuinely believe both decisions would've been given if it was us committing the acts. * knows if it's cause we're seen as a small time club on that stage now or something but we just don't get a fair crack..

 

Aye that was utterly baffling how they got away with that. O'Riley is something like 6ft so booting him in the face is most definitely a high boot.

 

We get clattered and bounce straight back up trying to get the game going again. I’m not advocating diving or play acting (and I know you are not either) we just need to be more street wise. McGregor got halved last night and jumped straight back up, making the ref think the tackle was not that bad. If he stays down the ref realises he’s been halved and has a decision to make.
