Grand old team to play for
Anyone got a clip of us giving away the corner for their first goal? Can't remember how it happened.

It’s still the same mentality from the board as in the past though. That’s the whole point here. We simply will not progress under this board due to their shortsightedness. I’m not sure when that is going to finally get through to all our fan base to be honest. Because it’s the same thing year after year in Europe. Domestic success is brilliant by the way, absolutely love it, but this is good enough for a lot of our support. If we had a bit of ambition to try and improve on a European stage, domestic success would remain.

This board have proven time and time again they are incapable of taking us forward from a position of strength, and it’s happened again this year. Best financial position ever, but we come out the window weaker. That’s simply unforgivable. As long as the balance sheet is good, that’s all that matters to this board. If the team on the park gets weaker, so be it.

Rodgers won’t get the chance to meet fan expectations. Just like he didn’t last time. No Celtic manager will under this regime.

It's really hard not to be negative, though. It's not like people are throwing a trantrum because CP isn't a fortress anymore and boo hoo we lose more than we win nowadays, sob sob; it's that we never win. It's that there are only 3 clubs in the entire history of the CL with a worse run at home than ours. Assuming we get nothing from AM (and I certainly am assuming that), that means we have just one more chance against Feyenoord. If we don't win that one then there won't be a single team in CL history with a worse run at home than ours.

Time will tell on the backing Rodgers gets mate. I know a lot are angry about the summer transfer window but I'd rather wait and get the right players in rather than * money on the the likes of barkas and ajeti. Hopefully things are going on behind the scenes to identify quality players.

There needs to be more and better communication. Why did the window go the way it did (we didn't think we needed these players? They were too expensive? Asked for too much in wages? Didn't want to come to Scotland?) and what we are going to do to address that and make sure future windows are more successful?

Time has come and gone mate. Not just with the summer past, but in the last decade or so past. This board do not have the capacity to take us forward in Europe. We had a whole summer to find the right players.

You have used they two as an example as they were both expensive duds. I could name absolutely loads of cheap duds that have cost us far more than Barkas and Ajeti. I’d rather we just had a good scouting team and a board prepared to properly back a manager to try and progress us each window.

Instead we sold Jota for £25m and tried to replace him on the cheap. We have loaded our squad with projects. We didn’t need to. We needed 3 or 4 quality additions in the summer and it never happened. We have now got a bloated squad because we would rather spread our costs over loads of players hoping to find a gem. It’s * pathetic.

Yeah it is hard not to be negative, but we will get there someday, maybe not in my lifetime, but we'll get there. :56:

I think there is still anger with our summer transfer business or rather the lack of it, that's understandable, and made all the more frustrating because we heave cash in the bank but were unwilling to go for that bit of quality that can make a difference in games like last night.

You could call it lack of ambition because that's what it looks like tbh.

we would of created a * of a lot more chances to win thoes games ,if you dont create chances you definitely wont score .we are brutal in the final third this season and its not just in europe .of course signing sub standard players is a major problem but its not the only problem . if we signed messi and told him to knock it backwards and sidways and just keep posession for 90 mins we would see exactly the same thing .lets not pretend this isnt a rodgers problem

I agree but the extra bit of quality isn't there. We matched Lazio but still lost. Credit for another home defeat just like all the others. We were unlucky, it wasn't our night. Cold, hard facts are with some extra investment in the team we could well be on 4 points.

Bingo. We might still have lost both games by the way. At least we would have given ourselves the best possible chance to be successful with proper investment though. There is no wondering what if. This board aren’t giving us the best chance. They are trying to do as little as possible in the way of investment hoping we pull something out the fire.

Did you see what happened to that Shakhtar Donetsk team before that campaign? We will never play a CL team at a more advantageous time. They were definitely weaker than Lazio and Feyenoord.

10 years, 4 managers. This is demonstrably not a Rodgers problem. No pretence necessary.

They would trouble everyone in our group. I wish we played like them. They have a mostly Ukrainian team now, yet still get results. Imagine us with mostly Scottish players.

Played two games we really could have got something out of and lost both. Was absolutely gutted last night. Probably better than being outclassed but doesn’t feel that way.

Spot on. We have not improved the starting 11 from last season. We got 2 points last year so how do we expect anything different this year with an almost identical team bar replacing Jota with Yang. Awful recruitment.

The summer window was a disgrace.
