Into space or onto Oh. Training umpteen passes between defenders praying the opposition have mercy and let us progress the ball is a moronic idea.

So we have a team that struggled with set pieces. Your plans punt it up. Loose possession and have the other team attack again? The opposition cant score if we have the ball. Giving them it every 10 seconds is a recipe for being the worst team in champions league history as witnessed from hoofball fc last year.

Not BR’s fault, last night. Yang and Hatate were an absolute disgrace, neither managed to find a Celtic player with the ball very often. He has to go with Hatate because our only other option from the start was Turnbull. As for Yang, * me gently he obviously watched Ronaldo when he was growing up, but switched the telly off after all his step overs and never watched the bit where he found a teammate or had a shot.

Liked the shape and the tactics last night, it was a good European performance and we were ultimately let down by a wee bit of quality lacking.

We didn’t replace Jota in the window, that much is patently obvious. However, there are other windows to come and we need to back him.

Morning after and with the kick in the baws subsiding we can feel optimistic, we’ve had a good start to the season and we’ve properly competed in Europe and not got what we deserved. Still time to rectify that.

It doesn't matter who has the ball, but where. If we are passing the ball around in our final third, it will be stolen, and we will be in trouble. If the ball is far away from our goal, we are safe.

Some refer to hoofball as treating the ball as if it were a hot tattie. IMO, our defenders should treat it as if it were a nuclear fuel rod, nevermind a tattie. Get it to * away from the goal, as far away as possible.

As much as it's yet another defeat in Europe i do think our set up looks a lot better this time around, there are also positives we can take away.

It's just so frustrating when we lose to teams that are more than beatable.

Bang on….thought we played well with a good shape.Improve the quality in a couple of positions next window.BR tactics are good enough.

Rodgers is the only signing this summer that I'm really happy with. I think he almost got us a draw last night and he was unlucky not to. We are so toothless in terms of players that even domestically, there have already been a couple of games now where IMHO we only won because Rodgers is several levels above the other SPL managers.

We had the chance to improve the quality in the summer. With the most amount of money we have ever had. Then we got handed the best CL group we’ve ever had as well. If we weren’t prepared to back Rodgers in the summer just past, where is the optimism coming from that would suggest we will going forward. We didn’t bother first time round either. I’m not sure how many times we need to see the same movie for our fans to realise we won’t progress under this board.

    Sorry but that is nonsense.

Our spend completely dwarfs every spfl club bar one, the players available should be winning most games in the league.

I think he was backed in that first summer window after Ronny left. I used to think it was nonsense; but I'm honestly starting to think there's something in this idea that we only make big signings when we are weak. I thought this was the summer when we would prove that wrong: the money was there, a good manager was in place, the opportunity to build from a position of strength was really exciting.

And instead we had a negative net spend and came out of the window weaker than when we went in.

It doesn't work like that, though. Most of these teams play in a way the tries to negate that and so you need that extra quality to cut them open. Jota, for example.

Completely disagree with that to be honest, our squad is still not far off a treble winning machine last season. It's nothing close to as bad as made out here, and most decent managers would dominate - or should - domestically.

I think we can and will dominate domestically. It doesn't change the fact that we are struggling to create chances domestically in the here and now. Maybe you think that is down to Rodgers, but this time it's my turn to disagree with you. I think our attacking players other that MOR have been awful ands that's down to them. Some aren't good enough, some aren't ready yet and one (Hatate) is way off form for whatever reason.

I understand both sides of this arguement and honestly don't feel either of you are right or wrong. I think there has to be a balance. By all means try to keep the ball but read the situation, if by passing around the back has invited pressure then read the dangervand by all means try to play out from the back but when the situation gets critical then lump it, pronto! It's when we are trying to pass out what seems an impossible position that gets me and we should be doing all we can to stop hart having any real time on the ball at that

Think we can take plenty of positives from last night and how we've started in general..
