Losing someone like Jota with his quality it's shown up in games like tonight.

We've been miles off it in Europe overall for the best part of a decade now. Even before that we had a flash in the pan with Lennon in 2012.

I just don't see when or how its going to change. The club lack ambition.

I don't see how the manager should take responsibility for Yang mis-controlling the ball multiple times and killing our attacks, or Hatate giving it away at every second pass, or Taylor being so bad at the traditional fullback role we've had to accommodate for him in a completely different system, thus leaving massive gaps in the back. At worst he should have started Palma over Yang and kept Phillips on (albeit I understand why he didn't do the latter)

Nobody's saying Rodgers or his system are perfect, but he and his style aren't the main issue. Almost all the issues with it come down to not properly backing him in the Summer. As I said to @Mr Shelby in his thread, if we got him an overlapping LB, a brute ST and a GK that isn't on the decline, we have 6 points from 6.

He's been completely shafted this summer by our board, project upon project hoisted onto him expecting a miracle in the CL. Our board are lucky that the huns themselves are in a desperate state.

Lazio I felt settled for a point after an hour we then looked * scared to commit to an attack and continued to just pass it around them which they were happy with

Aye. * sick to the back teeth of hearing about how we were unlucky. It’s not unlucky if it happens year after year. We have too many players in our starting eleven that simply aren’t good enough. Which goes back to the transfer window as it was a * shambles. We haven’t given ourselves the best chance to win games in Europe as we come out the window weaker than we went into it.

More than a decade without a win in the CL. We actually have the 4th worst home CL record in Europe and that could be (joint) worst if we don't win either of the next two home games.
More than a decade without a European knockout win in any competition.
Smaller clubs with smaller budgets outperforming us in Europe.

I think they have plenty to complain about.

Oh, I agree with you domestically. Anyone moaning at a domestic match is spoiled IMO. We don't disagree there.

I've actually been impressed with the two CL displays even though we've lost both where as I think we have been mediocre at best in the League yet won 6 out of 7 is it and are unbeaten.

I thought we were calm and controlled and well in the game, 2nd half they probably should have scored at the start but after that we had all the ball it seemed and were slowly building up to creating and dominating but all came crashing down in the end.

You always get punished it seems in the CL but the two performances, Feyenoord up to 60th minute or so when we went down to 10 then 9 have been decent and gave us a chance to win the games. Games have maybe came a bit early with the injuries and new signings still not really bedding in enough to be trusted by the fans or even their team mates.

I want to see us kicking on in the League though, we need a good run of 3/4 League performances where we dominate and win easily creating lots of chances until we do that they you can't really trust us going into Europe when we aren't even good in the League.

Tbf you’re right most of the time it’s not down to bad luck, but we were very very unlucky tonight,

You don’t just carry that into a game and sit complaining about it instead of creating an atmosphere and supporting the team. It’s so strange.

Heard it for years now mate. It’s not unlucky if the same thing continues to happen. Teams turn up at Celtic Park, and by hook or by crook usually leave with three points.

The atmosphere is * * now compared to how it used to be as well.

Newcastle can go out and buy a 70 Million striker mate, ten times more than we could afford, so no really a great comparison

I honestly don't find it strange at all. That doesn't mean I think it gets us anywhere, it doesn't; but I find it easy to understand.

Build a team worth supporting and the support will be there.

    Build a team worth supporting?

    That’s genuinely a mental comment.

In Europe. We've already established that I agree with you domestically.

We've gave away one bad goal in the two games so far. Conceding a freekick in the first game which was a shocking freekick that should never have went in, then conceding from a corner tonight.

Giving away set piece goals in the CL you'll be in massive trouble as they're gifts basically.

I think it’s totally fine to be critical. I am often on these forums. But there’s a time and a place for it.

I just find it totally bizarre that people go to these games and immediately resort to getting on the team’s back.

It’s not a new thing, but it has become commonplace at Celtic Park these days to an extent that I don’t remember it happening in the past. It used to be a real fortress. I’m aware the game has changed a lot as well in recent years and it’s difficult to compete, but the atmosphere seems to have died a bit with it.

We should have won its gonna be unbelievably tough to get Europa League now. Gutted.

We did play well and I thought we controlled the game for the most part. It's the same old comical defending that costs us but.

I think results have impacted the crowd.

It sounds mental but when we go 1-up it's hard to get too excited as you're genuinely just expecting a mistake or a moment of utter stupidity.

Felt the same tonight and yep, it happened. I think that train of thought has crept into the crowd atmosphere.
