I’m not talking about the players or tonight. It’s the fanbase.

We had more than enough to win tonight. Literally Maeda’s toe away.

These are also EL teams we are playing. You can meet better teams in EL.

Crowd is the same in the EL. They get on the team’s back straight away and stay silent when encouragement is needed.

Doesn’t matter how good a player is, they’ll make it known if he makes even a slight mistake.

They are CL teams. They aren't the strongest CL teams for sure; but they still beat us, didn't they? That Shalhtar Donetsk team last year was the worst CL team I've ever seen us play and yet we still couldn't beat them, could we?

It's true that in the EL there are some very strong teams and you'll have to beat teams better than this Lazio and Feyenoord if you want to win it (but then please note that we haven't won a EL knockout tie in more than a decade either for precisely that reason); but I'm talking about the groups. You don't get all 3 teams in a group being much better than you. That's the difference.

2 games, 0 wins. Another year of no European football after Christmas. Our toothlessness is a major * issue. Yes that is partly down to the players but it's also down to the style of play. You talk as if we were constantly in dangerous areas, we weren't. We spent most of the time passing the ball around the defence and midfield. If you can't see that then you're being ignorant.

Whose talking about hollywood shots or hoofing the ball up to Kyogo? Our goal was a result of Maeda's directness and attacking at pace. He actually attempted to somewhat dribble his man. O'Riley's pass was an example of creativity and intelligence, Kyogo's movement and finish was class. Each player highlighted the bravery I alluded to, but in areas that actually matter and make a difference.

We hardly replicated any of that afterwards though. The only other example of intricate play I can think of is when O'Riley had his usual powder puff shot at the edge of the box. But that wasn't exactly a clear cut chance was it?

Bottom line is we didn't do enough to win the game. Neither did they, but as usual we're the "unlucky" ones. We need get over this inferiority complex, these teams are VERY beatable. Sorry that I'm not buzzing at our possession stats. 10 years of the same pish - some amount of bad luck eh.

I’ve got absolutely no idea what your argument is btw. Just waffling.

How have you got there from us criticing the crowd.

Feyenoord and Lazio weren’t much better than us. You’re deluded. Probably emotions talking.

If we are out of sight domestically and out of Europe in January we may as well wait till the summer where we would more likely do better business. But I 100% agree we need quality additions at gk lb and most likely CF

They wingers didn’t try and be brave just once. They tried plenty of times. They failed. Because they are * at football. Not because of the managers set up.

I don't mind you waffling. Don't worry about it.

How did I get there? It's quite simple: the crowd have everything to complain about. I'm impressed that they don't do it more. That's how we got there. Feyenoord and Lazio are just the latest two.

I agree, most of the players aren't good enough. But I don't think it's entirely because of their ability or lack thereof. The manager surely has to take some responsibility for these missed opportunities.

For starters we need to up the intensity and play with a bit more conviction. Our current approach and ever-present European naivety has seen us lose two games, which, on reflection, should have seen us sitting on at least 4 points.

VAR is so inconsistently applied that it’s ruining the game by the way. Footage is analysed for a player’s shirt being a mm offside but the VAR referees completely ignore a red card-worthy lash out to the face.

How many times will we come out of these games saying X team weren't great or X team were there for the taking yet we've still lost.

We're nowhere near this level currently we could have been but then showed zero interest in actually improving in the window. We've been better than Lazio Feyenoord Donetsk and Leipzig in recent times and managed a grand total of 2 points.

What do they have to complain about domestically when it also happens in near enough every home game when things aren’t going to plan a whopping 10 minutes in?

    The crowd have become entitled.

The crowd don’t have everything to complain about. Go to the games and support your team, it’s actually quite embarrassing the way they act. It’s a total myth about our atmosphere, its been gone for years.
