Italians are the prime example of playing the game. Any touch, you go down. You win the foul.

We are too nice and young. * needs drilled into us about playing the game. Goldson is probably the best at it in Scotland. Anyone looks at him and he goes down holding his shin. We'd get a two footed challenge and apologise for inconveniencing the offender.

We are Maeda’s toe away from people saying how good that was and being buzzing.

    I don’t believe we aren’t good enough.

Palma has played himself into the team and Bernardo isn’t far off it either.

We need every member of the back 4 to touch the ball at least 3 or 4 times before we’re allowed to attack.

Did Palma’s yellow get taken back for celebrating the goal? Baffling that he booked Palma for celebrating and then watched every member of the Lazio team and bench go to their fans and then only book some * from the bench

I disagree I thought we progressed the ball really well tonight for the most part, problem was it broke down when it got to the forward line too often.

Thought it was silly risk bringing ccv on.Guys only back to fitness and i think rodgers should have gave him till after the international break before we brought him back and gradually bring him up to speed in a less high tempo game in the league.

Thought our defense was doing fine without him tonight and if he had pulled up injured again id have been fuming.

Atletico will tear is apart. Really could have done with 3rd place to drop into Europa, it's our best chance of a respectable season.

I can't see us finding a better 11 now, maybe Nawrocki coming back and Palma starting but honestly our fate was sealed by a non-ambitious transfer window.

Firstly, I've heard people boo the team. There was people around me booing after the St Johnstone 0-0. Every team can and does get booed, if the fans disapprove of what they've seen.

Secondly, it's not just a case of we should've won and lost. If the players kept the intensity up and lost, fair enough, they didn't give up and gave it everything. What we got instead was a team who started half heartedly knocking the ball about the back at the restart and then ping the ball to a Lazio full back after the restart. The team completely abandoned belief they could score again and surrendered. If you do that in the Champions League, the other team will punish you because they'll sense the weakness. It wasn't unlucky, it was our fault.

Hatate brings alot of pace and energy to our midfield, but his passing this season has been honking. Tonight he missed a couple of easy five yard passes in crucial situations. I think he needs to be benched, let Holm or Bernardo try their luck the upcoming matches.

They certainly are. Some of them just seem to favour the clubs from the bigger leagues but some just seem mental. Some of the decisions defy belief. That said we lost tonight because of our own inability to learn or adapt in Europe. I could have been the ref and we'd still have found a way to lose.

Don't have what it takes at this level, can't kill teams off when they are there to be beat and concede the softest goals imaginable.

Being young isn’t the issue. Look at some of the top young players on the planet. Bellingham, Pedri, Haaland, they’ve got a bit of nastiness in their games when needed. Age doesn’t matter.

He did for 70 minutes for me. Looked to me he was * the latter stages though. Wasn’t able to find the angles when the CB’s had possession and we struggled to get out because of that.

I was having similar thoughts recently when reflecting on Rogic's career. Rogic had those world-class moments in him. Basically echoing what you said but there just isn't that player with the potential to pop up with a worldie of a goal or pass

We've never been streetwise in Europe. This weird sense of doing the right thing has shafted us for decades :giggle1:

    You watched a different game.

If I had nothing to do I’d make a compilation of the moments I’m talking about.

    Numb. Totally sickening.

Thought we defended great but as many have said just looked one dimensional and not very dangerous going forward.

Yes we don't have a team for this level but mentality is also below part.

This is a problem domestically too.

I know one player doesn't make a team but the loss of Jota has had an awful effect on us.

We go in weak all the time too. It really doesn't help. Especially when we have record profits, just madness.

I'd drop hatate for Bernardo on Saturday.
