We had better players then, though. We've regressed massively this summer.

Take out the Covid season and this is the weakest Celtic team in terms of personnel that I've seen since before McCann. Before anyone jumps on me, of course I don't think it's the weakest team since then, it clearly isn't; just purely in terms of player quality, I think it is.

I don't think anyone's truly awful or anything; but I can't see a single player who European teams would fear. In the past, we've always had at least 1 player that gave us hope. Ange had Jota, Lenny 2 had Edouard and Forster, Rodgers 1 had Dembele and Sinclair, Ronny had Virgil and Denayer, Lenny 1 had Forster, Sammy (yes, Sammy) and Virgil and Wanyama's physical presence too, Mowbray had McGeady and Boruc, WGS had Naka, McGeady and Boruc, MON had too many to mention, Barnes had Lubo, Berkovic and Viduka, Dr Jo had Lubo, Larsson and Viduka, Jansen had Larsson, Tommy had the 3 amigos.

Yes, some of these teams were worse than the current one; but those players were a level above anything we have now. You always felt there was a chance with them. I think we're toothless at European level now.

Yes, some of them will no doubt develop into top players (at which point, we'll sell them). Yipee.

Automated means it shows up right away you would need laserlines on every grass blade to call it without a quick review

Long and short of it is we are far too immature at this level. We don’t know how to play the game.

Agreed mate. What was that thing that happened? I don't think my brain could comprehend the physics involved in * that up so much.

Yet he's such an important figure.

I guess you need to weigh the bad v the good. Because let's be honest, the bad is horrendous but the good is top class.

There historical issues were having every season in Europe though and it's unforgiveAble the same * happens every season for years now.

With all the football people at our club they don't know that fsnnying about at the back with ball in the latter stages causes very good teams to smell blood and press down right on top of you and causes late goals

Was thinking at 1-1 with minutes to go that I’d have taken it before the start….. but still felt like we deserved more… losing in the last moments.. jeez

It’s quite sad that I’m not overly disappointed .. because my expectations were low to start with.

    Roll-on the league.

I really feel we are severely lacking in the attacking third. I have felt this way every time I watch us play this season. Other than Kyogo you just don't see a moment of quality coming from any of our attacking players

    It's very apparent.

Must be difficult though going from spraying the ball about with 75% possession in a league game against 10 mountains. It's hard to transition from that into defending a high press.

I agree with Johnston, which is unusual.

Disagree with McGregor. Thought he controlled the game for us. But hey, I know football.

We are simply not good enough at this level, sickening to be honest.

Too many players are projects or others who simply do not have the ability play the part they are needed to.

Victims of our own success, Win the league and get the CL money for it to sit in the bank whilst the team struggles.

Not looking at the Hatate challenge is beyond disgusting. * clenched his fist as he deliberately throws his arm at Reo's face.

We have no idea how to play out from the back. We actually break lines and then pass it back to be pressed again. Its * mental.

Scunnered like everyone else .but I've had enough of this champions league its just no for us 2nd season reasonable group and were finishing bottom again..next year will be even worse with the new system
I'm kind of hoping the co officiant isn't good enough and we get put into Europa from now on
So we can at least compete .plus europa going to same one league format as champions league next year as well .

Exactly this is part of the issue.

But we also need to know when to protect the ball, when to start diving about, and also when to go full throttle attack.

Knowing how to switch between those stages is a finely crafted skill. But it’s a skill we are far away from unfortunately.
