To take a positive. We looked more secure in defence compared to last year (by cost of less exciting football). But the result is the same so... a bit useless

The players that were on the park done well I thought. Some of them are way below the level required but that’s not their fault. It’s our boards.

 

Some of Maedas play in the final third was laughable tonight and I’m one of his biggest fans. The chance he fluffed away across goal was embarrassing.

 

They finished 2nd so would've got CL football regardless of of anything Juve did.

 

Elephant the room is our level is the Europa/conference league...but not easy getting in that competition..

I just hate that we give such soft goals away.

Their first goal comes from us refusing to just hoof the ball and spend 5 minutes in an organised defensive shape. So we start giving a way set pieces and then shambles follows. They had * all else and get a scrappy set piece goal.

The second goal CCV has a moment and can’t just get the ball to *. Like 95 minutes in our own half and we don’t just toe it away.


So so frustrating. We have to work so hard and score really good goals.

Aye. We went from having Jota and thinking we needed similar quality on the right to losing Jota, Abada, and replacing them with two players who just aren't up to it.

Palma is a type who will get goals because of his excellent technique when striking a ball, but he lacks so much in other parts of his game. Yang is a couple of seasons off being ready.

 

Draw as many lines as you like. That's onside.

All my life I've heard 'attacker benefit of the doubt'

There should be clear daylight between the last defender and the striker for offside.

Why should an attacker be penalised for being quicker off the mark than his opponent?

That was a missed chance tonight. * gutted.

 

He had about 3 decent chances and made a dogs dinner out them. At chasing the ball down he is absolutely class like we all know but once he wins the ball it’s a different story.

Frustrating but nothing we didn’t already know.
