That might be true, but it's no good for me having to suffer through another fortnight without any proper football :55::54:

The fact this is quiet after yesterdays game a bad sign?

Hopefully not ive a gut feeling he will be a good player for us. Based on nothing other than i dont normally have gut feeling on new unproven players, hope theres a reason for it.

I think it's quiet because nobody was signing up to Ayr TV and paying money to watch the B team play Ayr :giggle1:

He was very quiet in the game played about an hour. He wasn’t the only one though our front line played like a team that had never seen each other before. Vata had a couple of chances but was pretty toothless.

A lot of our play went down the left through Johnston who done his usual decent dribble, no end product.

Kobayashi and Bonetig both looked decent distributing the ball but Kobayashi as usual wasn’t great at the corner they got their goal from.

Kwon didn’t look above the level of the Ayr players, made a couple of decent interceptions but got done easily a few times too. Wasn’t very strong for someone so big. He looks a long way off the standard.

Most of the b team guys look miles of the required standard especially the ones second half. It wasn’t even the Ayr first team.

Not really surprising about the B team players, they have been pumped a few times this month already. The mix of playing pishy 5 tier football and being coached by 2 absolute * cloggers isn't gonna help anyone's development

Who’s coaching them? I take it the B team has changed style too?

Rodgers didn't mention the fact he returned from injury and played v Ayr..

Wonder where he will feature in the managers thinking.

So I watched the first half - reasonably entertaining game although as someone else said, the front three looked like they'd never met at times.

I think Tilio would be happy with his performance after a long time out. He put in a dangerous cross in the first minute but there was no-one steaming onto the far post. Got to his own far post several times ahead of his marker but no cross. He had two excellent bits of two-footed skill to beat players and looked increasingly confident on the ball as the half wore on. Also looked strong in possession and played (maybe) two passes that didn't find their target - which is very good for a front third player. One lovely pass to Vata in the box when closed down by two players. The commentator described him as diminutive but pacy, powerful and skilful. He wasn't looking to make things happen as much as he usually does but is clearly just getting his confidence back. He'd do better with better players around him.

The player who really impressed me was the captain - #10. Never caught his name but he was great - constantly beating the first defender and playing lovely balls in behind - mainly down the left unfortunately for Tilio.

The two centre backs looked very good also. Tall, good in the air, confident on the ball and both went striding forward a couple of times and both played at least one dangerous inside channel ball to set up a chance.

Overall - a big difference in quality from the first team but several players (including Tilio) looked the goods.

Also... that pitch looked absolutely gorgeous. Why the * isn't Rugby Park like that? Isn't it just down the road from Ayr Utd?

Because Killie are quite happy to use the advantage of having an atrocious pitch whivh brings teams down to their level and that honestly I'd have reservations about playing on for my own safety.

It's actually a disgrace it is deemed acceptable to play top flight football on. Absolutey no reason they can't use grass, it's not the Sarah desert or North Pole type climate, its * Scotland..
