Whata goal son for spurs

 

Aye it true the Arsenal fans you come across seem to be more sound in general..

 

Spurs and Arsenal fans I know are generally alright. Some Spurs fans do have a false sense of grandeur though. I find it's the Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United fans that * dickheads. Many of the Liverpool and Man United fans suddenly started supporting Brentford a couple of years ago, so they have bellends too.

 

annoyingly mate there’s a perception about them that they are - there was a reason they were involved in the Super League talk.

 

Hahaha I haven't seen any switch sides.

I love that the Man Utd fans I knew growing up during the glory years now have a life of mediocrity in front of them. They're all so sad. It's delicious.

Liverpool fans have come out the woodwork the last 5 or so years. They now constantly complain about a lack of financial backing despite spending hundreds of millions.

No good Chelsea fans. Anywhere.

Exactly right about Spurs fans. They think they are a decent club. They're a nothing club historically. * losers in real life, too.

Arsenal fans whinge but I understand why. Funny to listen to though.

Historically I'd say Spurs are fairly successful, 3 European trophies the problem is that success was 40 years ago. Since they won the UEFA cup in 84 they've won 1 FA Cup and 2 league cups.

 

What were the three European trophies?

Were they the ones that aren't a thing anymore and only wee teams talk about?

Spurs are an on par with Newcastle for a lot of talk for absolutely nothing.

 

2 uefa cups and a cup winners cup. Decent trophies tbf

 

I'm from a generation that doesn't know or want to know about the cup winners cup.

Cup winners Cup was pretty prestigious back in the day, as far as I'm aware

 

Probably it's downfall was it's name "Cup Winners" Cup, as I think a lot of the teams who were in it never won the Cup which was meant to be the point of it. If it was called the UEFA Championship or that it would probably never have been binned.

Like even the Huns and Aberdeen who won it, Celtic actually beat them in the Scottish Cup finals and they only went in it cause Celtic also won the League. Think that happened all the time so was a farce.

 

Of course it was in fact more so than the UEFA cup it was Europe's second most prized trophy. Also at the time you only had one team from each country in the European cup so most seasons it would have had either Barca or Real in it and one of the Milan teams etc

 

That guy Merson went off on a rant the other day say Arsenal will totally annihilate, crush and tear Spurs to pieces. He said they had no quality

 

Aye my knowledge on it is limited but from what I gathered it was closer to the European Cup in prestige than the Europa League is compared to the Champions League these days.

 

Could bet your life on it if we’d won it you’d think different.

 

Gary Neville hates Spurs as well, before the game he was on SSN talking like Spurs would be too open and are trying to play to fancy and said he's worried they could lost by 3 or 4.

Raging probably because Ten Hag looked dreadful at Man Utd and has been there a year and Ange is already playing total football in a few weeks and doing what he'd have been wanting at Man Utd.

 

I was actually thinking about this in terms of why I enjoy watching us play in the EL so much now.There's no doubt that there is far more chance of winning the EL (let alone the ECL) these days than there was of winning the UEFA Cup or CWC back in the day. Such a high percentage of the best teams are i the CL these days.

It's why I always insist that it should not be considered impossible for us to win the thing. If the clubs were spread out in the old way, with 2nd, 3rd and 4th in England, Spain, Italy and Germany all in the EL or even Conference League, we'd have no chance.

 

Think a lot of our fans look down on it because it’s the only European trophy the huns have and we’ve obviously done the big one.

It was a big deal back in the day by all accounts.


I’m not a fan of Spurs at all or any English mob for that matter, but I can’t help like them while the big man’s there and has them playing the way they are.
