I think he will be Klinsmann has watched him a few times now.

 

Played 2 friendlies the other week and got on in 2nd game in injury time.

Surely club should he having a chat with Klinsmann given potential number of player we are gonna lose. Could be far more beneficial to him and them long term if he gets a run of 5 or 6 starts here rather than being brought on to run down the clock for them.

Also if he's only viewed as a squad player at the moment for them and he continues to play the way he has been recently for us his position in the squad isn't a certainty

Oh's stats under Ange were pretty good, even for the bit parts and the occasional start. Since Rodgers his opportunities have been even fewer, partly due to being out with an injury until recently, so I tend to agree with this assessment, that the jury is still out if he can suit BR's game. Then again wven Kyogo is far from as effective in Rodgers' system than he was in Ange's, so there is that also.

And do agree that another striker in January will be necessary, as both Kyogo and Oh are potentially in the frame of their respective NT for the Asia Cup.

 

Not convinced by him at all. I was desperate for another striker in the window because at best OH is a project.

 

I've been saying it for ages, I'm far from convinced by him. Big Jackie was a far superior player, madness how we swapped him for Oh.

 

We didn’t though GG was desperate to get out and we were only ever going to get a project for 2nd choice. We didn’t swap him for Oh. I like Oh though, he’ll be fine here.

 

Good point I suppose, GG was wanting out. Going by where he went, I'm sure we could have upped his money to keep him, who knows. He's levels above Oh for me. Oh hasn't shown anything yet.

 

I hope he does just lacking composure a bit infront of goal but we can definitely afford to give him more minutes domestically so hopefully he takes his chances.
Hopefully a speedy recovery for your bro mate…. Plenty of rest best thing for him right now.
And yeah the game was good I thought, Livingston away is always a tough one on that pitch and with how they set up but think the team reacted super to going a man down, very silly from hart but it is what it is. Good team performance then with a high intensity. Scales, Taylor, O’Riley and maeda I thought were all standouts. Hopefully a dominant performance next week against Motherwell and can make a few subs then and rest lads/give lads minutes before the lazio game

 

Still feel like he has some pretty obvious untapped potential, it just isn't really coming together. I think that's mainly because he isn't getting sufficient game time to develop, but unfortunately he won't really get that unless Kyogo gets injured.

Needs to impose himself on games more when he comes on though. He does his best work outside the box too which is part of the problem at the moment.

 

He'd do well in the right setup.

Thinking more like Abada to the rights Maeda to the wlft, both cutting in to drive forward with Oh through the middle.
Certainly needs the right midfield behind him as well.

But coming off the bench in a ever rotating players around him, he won't settle much.

There is a player of talent in there, we just won't get it out of him I don't think.

Mite be difficult given numbers that are gonna be away due to Asian Cup but if we are to sign a striker in January I'd be tempted to loan him out to another spfl team for 2nd half of the season.

If the stretegy is to sign young players, develop then and sell them on then a huge part of that development has to be actually playing football.
Been spoken about in other thread but we don't use the loan market correctly to develop players.
We've seen the benefits of doing it with guys like Ajer, Christie and Scales so why aren't we doing more of it?

Guys like Bernabei and Kobiyashi would have greatly benefitted from loans to spfl clubs rather than sitting about barely playing for months.

Bernabei, kobiyashi, Kwon, Welsh, mickey Johnston, Oh and possibly Tilio should all be looked at going out on loan in January as likelihood is none of them will get much game time here during the run in.

 

I agree with the approach overall but I think Bernabei, Kobayashi and Mikey Johnston should be sold or tried to be moved on I don’t think any of them have a future here.

Welsh I think it’s missed the boat on that one.

Kwon, I would definitely loan and if Oh is still seeing limited game time definitely get him out on loan somewhere and get someone else in. If you can’t get game time the first half of the season when we have a lot of European football then there’s no chance second half of the season. Tilio depends on what game time he gets, there is definitely a position on the wings for someone to grab at the moment.

 

I wouldn't be writing anyone off after Christie and scales.

Bernabei cost nearly £4m so we'd be as well trying with him out on loan rather than just writing if off coz no chance we would get even half that back just now.

Having missed 1st half of this season can't see the harm in getting Welsh out to play 15 - 20 games in January. Can only aid his development

Aye Tilio may get a chance especially with Abada being out for a while now

 

I think it’s a similar situation we have with Dembele and Eduard.
It wasn’t really until Dembele moved on that we seen the best of Eddy.

 

My son played Junior football and the manager had his favourites no matter how they played to the point the team got relegated. When my son was getting on for the last 15 minutes you do try too hard and end up not showing your true skills

Im okay with him, thought he was okay yesterday. Different style from others.

If it doesn't happen this year though I think he will be off.

 

It is a worry for when Kyogo inevitably picks up an injury.

The drop off in quality from Kyogo to Oh is probably the biggest drop in quality from first choice to second choice anywhere on the park.

I'd like another striker in tbh. But hey, I'd settle for a first choice left back and keeper first.
