Heard Rodgers and the bhoys are off to McDonalds to celebrate the win, Kyogo is getting a happy meal.

There is a certain urgency that sets in once we go a man down, at least domestically. We go about everything quicker, and with purpose. It led to a really fun game.

Everything Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said to Sky Sports, following his side's 3-0 win over Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena

Brendan, well done. How satisfying a win was that in the end?

On the back end of playing with nine men during the week and a tough challenge, to come here and play that well… I thought we started the game with real good energy. Our attitude in the game was really good. We got up in the game and got good control. Obviously, we lost Joe (Hart), which was his first ever sending-off in his career. We always have a plan for that – going down to 10 men – and how we want to work, and I thought the boys were brilliant, in terms of how they took the pressure away. The way they tactically moved and unlocked spaces, and obvious we had that threat when we were going forward. I think when you have Daizen Maeda in your team, you don’t really have 10 men. He puts in the work rate of two players – an unbelievable mentality. He gets his reward at the end. Overall, it was a real collective effort from the boys, and they showed outstanding resilience.

What did you make of the red card?

It's one of those awkward ones. The ball pops up on the pitch, so it's difficult for Joe. Sometimes that will bounce and then skid through. The referee’s made the decision on it, and from that was the reaction from it. I thought Scott Bain came in and did great by keeping the clean sheet, and I thought the team were tactically excellent.

What did you say at half-time, given that you come out and score that goal so early and crucially?

Yeah, to stay calm. I think sometimes you can worry with 10 men, but you're still well in the game. Obviously we were in control of the game at 1-0, so I just thought we had to be better with the possession. I think we can still be better in the second half. We lost too many balls, but we can keep it better. It was just about staying calm and understanding how you were going to defend against the eleven men.

We spoke midweek after the game in Rotterdam. You said Celtic aren’t at their peak, but do you feel that they are getting there, that this is another step of them showing character and mentality?

Yeah, listen. Peak Celtic for me is still a way off, but that’s my demand and what I expect and I think that will come in return. You see the work today, I thought we started the game with a real good energy and the quality of football was very good on another kind of surface. I have no doubt that will come, no question of that, but today was a really good performance against a team that proved difficult in this early part of the season, so im really pleased with that.

The fans certainly enjoyed it. So did that young man (pitch invader). You had to protect him there at the end.

Listen, it was a great day for Celtic. You come here as a player and to have that much support, it was absolutely amazing. Especially when you have a midweek game to get that energy. The wee guy at the end, it's just common sense, it's a young kid. He is on the pitch to see his heroes and wants to see the players. He shouldn’t be punished or presecuted for that, especially when the security guy is not that much older than him! He just wants to see his heroes, so just common sense by letting him get back to his mates.

Really enjoyed the game today. Was worried when we went down to 10 men but really you'd have been hard pressed to say which team was a man down most of the game. Maeda, O'Riley, McGregor and wee Kyogo put some shift in today.

They’ve got a job to do,if fans running on to the pitch get to players then questions will be asked and it won’t look good for them.

It looks like it’s our stewards as well before anyone starts.

I’m having no cynicism for our snake of a manager, today saving the young bhoy from the stewards was a classy thing to do, whatever his reasons and it obvious Rodgers enjoyed it
