If that game last night was a one-off, freak result then you could say that but last night's performance and score could have been pretty much any Celtic team from the past 12 years or so. The worst aspect was how predictable it was. The same individual mistakes, the same poor choices, the inability to pass the ball unless it's backwards or across the back-line, the naivety, the poor discipline and the conceding of a goal at a particularly bad time(ie just before HT). We have learned nothing in Europe in all that time and what is worse is the next time we play we will make the same mistakes as we have for the past 10 years and that is the worst part of all. Until we realize that we must adapt our tactics and that we must improve our recruitment policy then nothing will change and we will continue to be out of our depth at CL level. I take no joy from saying this but it's true.

Yep.. different season same script. I've basically given up all hope of any success in Europe never mind the CL. Its been 20 odd years of absolute pish with a few bursts of enjoyment

Missed opportunity for me they weren’t that good, just think that the other 2 teams are going to be a harder challenge.

Don't hate me, but we are finishing bottom of the group.

I struggle to see how we get points from Lazio and Atletico, those teams are likely to be far better at the back and harder to get through.

I don't mean to be this pessimistic, but I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see we score just 1 goal which is maybe against Feyenoord when we get them in Glasgow.

The goal we conceded just before half time could easily have been avoided. Why did Maeda take a quick free kick and why the Kyogo jump ? Do we actually have a defensive coach to discuss things like how to set up a wall as that wall set up was a joke.

We were a shambles last night . And what makes it even worse , was that we were playing away OK . Especially when you think that we have some players missing , some others just back from injury or starting out for the club . An all too predictable scenario in European competition . It fair scunners me .

It's absolutely baffling how we simply refuse to improve as a football club.

Gets me thinking of that Ajax side that had an amazing CL run a couple years back.

Lots of talented young players (should and will always be the case for us also), but just a couple of proven quality players. Tadic comes to mind.

Just why in the * don't we emulate this? 3 signings around the 7m mark in key areas would improve us tremdendously as a side and we sure as * would be able to make some noise in Europa.

But no.... same old *. It's truly mindboggling and I'm struggling to even get excited for CL games these days which is crazy and sad. Truly depressing stuff

Yeah, Feyenoord have completely destroyed a few of their league opponents recently so for us to only lose away from home by two goals against such a quality team and whilst only have 9 men in our side for a fair chunk of the game isn't too bad. Disappointing though that those red cards mean bans for those players.

Had a Hun laughing because they had beaten Feyenoord last time they played them in a competitive game. Had to explain that we played the same club not the same team and now they are a much more formidable force. Some of these * actually think they would have done better last night.

Is it a 1 match ban for a second yellow red and 2 match ban for straight red?

I’m a glass half full guy on Tuesdays game, but my son who’s 23 sent me these messages , which probably backs your point up tbh…

can’t even be arsed anymore watching us.

champions league every time ruins my day.

Maybe the club should pull their finger out and show the next generation of supporter that the club will start to progress in Europe, not just do enough in the league to win it and have no further ambitions. Odd opinion I know, but it’s not just the young ones who would like to see us have a side capable of at least competing against most of the sides in champions league.

Under this regime mate unfortunately your son may never see us competing on the CL stage. Like you said we are in danger of losing a generation of supporters especially with the PL down the road. I've done it to death on here mate, I * hate what Lawwell and Co have turned us into

Annoying thing is, I think they were there for the taking. They didnt look great and we got our foot on the ball at times in the first half but we * it.

We just seem to lack the right mentality in these games.

The aim should still be three home wins.

We also never used to win away before lawell so it's not a new generation thing.

Loosing at home is new though. Hopefully won't be repeated this year.

There is a sickness in scottish football and its affecting every team in the league. No one seems to want to do anything about it and just happy to watch our teams get banged out of any european comp at the earliest opportunity.Other countries with less money and smaller clubs manage to do much better than scottish teams.
Yes we get the odd good season but we are always being beaten by clubs that our fans label pub teams or * or not that good, but we fail time and time again.

This was a sickener for me, individual decision making messed it up for us.

Still not as bad an individuel mistake as I watched on Sunday when my local team played, I was 100% more raging about this:

double hurt, as I was wearing the same top as him at the match, and the player he rugby tackled was the Kvistgaarden guy we were interested in,

So all in all a crap few days of football for me

That Depeche Mode when we score!!
And the danger is it will get worse and worse thus getting harder and harder to get good players to come to us and hold on to any we do manage to get. Who wants play in a league that gets poorer and poorer in standard. Like it or not all the Scottish teams have to do as well as possible in Europe because that for starters helps our beloved club.

And we can do more than our bit in Europe this season and starts with our first home win in the Champions league for 10 years on the 4th October and this time we only have to wait 3 weeks for our next CL home win:ynwacelti
