Still slavering pish I see. Aw this because I said a daft newspaper you claim you worked for had a negative headline about an ex Celtic player. Away outside and get some fresh air you poor boy. Deep breaths, everything will be ok.

Al- Ittihad insider Hamed Al-Balawi insists Jotawould have jumped at the chance to return to Celtic when he realised his Saudi Arabia move had turned into a nightmare.

But now the winger has been left short on options with so many transfer windows closed and he’s entered the final day he can move to Turkey, which is one of the few windows open. Fenerbahce, who also have ex-Rangers winger Ryan Kent, are believed to be keen to sign him while he can also move on loan to the UAE Pro League and a decision will need to be made soon after he was cut from the Al-Ittihad squad.

The former Celtic hero left the club in the summer in a £25m deal to play alongside the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante but the move turned sour when he was left out of the squad for the season ahead and has no prospect of playing for them.

A return to Celtic Park was suggested but nothing concrete came from it and he remains an outcast in the Middle East. But Al-Balawi reckons he would have been keen to return to Scotland if he could have after finding out his move wasn’t going as planned.

He said: "Dispense with a foreign player who does not participate, like Jota, and if the coach feels embarrassed to dispense with him he can choose a name other than Grohe. But I think if the coach was convinced of the player, he would have played him continuously.

"The player would not have hesitated to return to Celtic, but cannot choose that option. Now we have Fenerbahce. The departure of Grohe is a form of madness. For the team, he is a safety valve. The first choice for managing the club must be to find a club for Jota. He is not at the level of ambition

If they don't want him pay his contract off and release him so he can come home.

They’ll hold off till at least January incase they can recoup any sort of fee. How public of a shitshow it’s been though, I doubt they’ll have any offers outwith loan requests and 10% of his wage for a year or two.

And they’re rich enough to not give a * and just pay him that for a few year with a restraining order on the training ground

And in the end up, Jota may have * a promising career a lot but he’ll have £30m quid in they years, and be sorted for life. Go back to try and capture some of what he could be at 25/26, and I’d accept that being at us. Cos he’d certainly have been away end of this year anyway if he kept on the way he was developing.

He’ll be miserable as * a few years but ave known people that have, and done myself, miserable jobs that set me up for my next dinner alone

    ET’s latest on Jota

Former Celtic star Jota has reportedly been excluded from Al-Ittihad's Saudi Pro League squad, leading to a fallout behind the scenes at his new club.

The Portuguese winger joined the Tigers in June for £25million after two successful seasons in Glasgow but has struggled to make an impact in the Middle East.

He has been on the fringes, and with Saudi Pro League rules only allowing for eight foreign players, it appears the arrival of Real Betis defender Luiz Felipe has seen the 24-year-old miss out on the squad.

Jota will now only be available for AFC Champions League fixtures and Club World Cup matches.

This had led to a "dispute" between manager Nuno Espirito Santo and club management, as the ex-Wolves boss wanted to keep the forward in the squad.

All this is according to Ittihad insider Salem Al-Ahmadi, who told Saudi outlet Bara 18: "The delay in issuing the decision regarding the ninth foreigner excluded from Ittihad was because there is a dispute between the administration and the coach.

"Therefore there was hesitation. In my opinion, there is a difference of opinion between Nuno and the Union administration regarding dispensing with Jota.

"I see that Santo did not want to dispense with Jota. In return, the federation’s management pressed for the player’s exclusion from the list of foreigners.

"Al-Ittihad management over the past days has unanimously agreed that Jota is the player who left the list."

They'll loan him out to a club in January for 6 months then try and recoup their money next Summer.

I don't think the Saudi's will be back in for our players after this, they'll be targeting top 5 league players.

It's * for Jota but if he does get loaned out in January, then he gets Saudi level wages whilst not needing to play in Saudi Arabia, it's a win-win.

Once he's loaned out once, it's doubtful he'll ever play there. Wonder if he'll just sit out the contract and go out on loan until he's a free agent.

Could definitely be win/win for him.

I don’t see why it’s all doom and gloom to be honest.

Scenario 1: I assume he can agree a payoff and go to a much better place to play football for more money than he would otherwise have received if this whole thing never happened, including if he came back here.

Scenario 2: He gets loaned out for 3 years, getting to play somewhere better while collecting 10x what he would otherwise get.

Worst case scenario: They make him stay for 3 years playing no football. Highly unlikely in my opinion since this whole thing is about reputation for the Saudi clubs, and it will look poor if they treat a player like that.

I think it's a really bad advert for going to KSA for other players from Europe. You've got millionaire princelings playing football manager with real players, doling out mega contracts then convincing players to rip them up because they've had a change of heart.

As for Jota, I hope he milks them for every penny.
