They also have his age as 21 when’s he’s 18.

So guess we shall see how tall he actually is once he plays for the B Side. Doesn’t look 5ft 5 anyway.

Regardless of squad issues, if Celtic come knocking for a young A league player, 9 times out of 10 its happening. End of.

Football clubs often sign younger players and look to develop them via the academy/B-team, with the eventual goal of seeing whether they're good enough to step up to the first team.

 

Watched this lad play in the WSW v Adelaide United Australia Cup (equivalent of the Scottish Cup) game a couple of weeks ago.

He played LCB and looked very assured alongside Marcelo. Didn't do much talking (understandable for a youngster to not be a standout leader and communicator on the pitch at that age), but he looked very calm and composed for what was his senior debut I believe.

Definitely one to keep an eye on, will hopefully benefit from a loan to a Championship side and force his way in to the squad in the coming seasons.

Listen, this lad’s 18. He’s already come through somewhere else’s academy. It’s a pointless project signing that will more than likely come to nothing. It’s not like he’s some relatively known wonderkid (as Ajer was, for example).

Surely far better off investing our efforts in the young CBs we already have.

 

Any big negatives to this that it bothers you so much?

 

He's a free signing and likely identified via Lawwell Jr or networks we have set up in Asia. Minimal to no risk, and potentially some reward. They're not all gonna be wonderkids unfortunately.

But if he's being given a 3-year deal without even having a trial, presumably we have some justifiable belief in him. Hopefully he turns out great, but perhaps he won't. No dramas either way.

He did have a trial. He played for the b team during pre season

 

Hopefully he's a decent talent already as cant see much development happening with the b team tbh the way it has been going lately.
