Suppose, all defenders back and Hatate for the final match but away to Feyenoord will be tough with a weak team.

Yeah, it's a shame we got them in the 1st match and need something so early... But, at the end of the day, we're at the big table, we've got 3 teams where we could potentially get something from them, it's big lights at Parkhead midweek... I'm just gonna enjoy it until it's over! Not much else is fans can do! :50:

Could really set up a massive clash at the end for 3rd. I just want one thing. The last game not to be a dead rubber. (Unless we've already qualified)

Of course I wanted salzburg in our group but I’ve managed second best
All Celtic/Salzburg games in the group stage are on separate nights so double portion of the CL
Now I just need my Dutch Feyernord friends to come up with the goods in getting tickets even if it will be in the home end

Celtic start their 2023/24 UEFA Champions League campaign by travelling to the Netherlands to take on old European Cup final adversaries, Feyenoord on Tuesday, September 19.

That’s followed by two consecutive home ties, first against Serie A side, Lazio on Wednesday, October 4 and then Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, October 25.

Atletico also provide the next opposition by hosting Celtic in Madrid on Tuesday, November 7 prior to the trip to Rome to take on Lazio on Tuesday, November 28.

The final game is the return tie at home against Feyenoord on Wednesday, December 13 – so all away ties on Tuesdays and all home ties on Wednesdays, with all games kicking off at 8pm (Celtic Park time) apart from Lazio away which starts at 5.45.

Celtic’s Group E ties (kick-offs Celtic Park time):

    • Tuesday, Sep 19, Feyenoord away, kick-off 8pm
    • Wednesday. Oct 4, Lazio home, kick-off 8pm
    • Wednesday, Oct 25, Atletico Madrid home, kick-off 8pm
    • Tuesday, November 7, Atletico Madrid away, kick-off 8pm
    • Tuesday, November 28, Lazio away, kick-off 5.45pm
    • Wednesday, December 13, Feyenoord home, kick-off 8pm

Was at the Feyenoord game today, in Utrecht, they won 5-1. First things first, Barkas had an absolute stinker of a game! I am so happy that he isnt with us anymore. the 3-1 was a pure howler! He is beyond bad!

But Feyenoord are attacking a strong force, their midfield sliced Utrecht open time after tipe. Stengs and Ivanusec are very impressive! Giminez too.

Defensively it was different though. The goal of Utrecht and the situation leading to the corner were pure slapstick. And througout the game Infelt they werent stable in the back. Certainly the keeper is a weak point. But think Bijlow will be back soon.

Think we are certainly in with a chance if we are on our day! Two special games. Always liked Feyenoord in Holland. Great workingman club and amazing support. Today they were singing all game.

    Ya dancer!!
Am travelling through Europe but just rescheduled everything to fly back to Glasgow for each of the October home games then be in Madrid for the Athletico game.
Head back to Aus straight after that then back in December for the final game at home. I have a very understanding wife!!!

Is it next Monday that we have to submit our CL squad?

Going to be a few disappointed signings that CL football was part of the attraction..

What do people think will be the squad?
    I'm thinking
    GK
    Hart
    Bain
    Siegrist

    DF
    Ralston
    AJ
    Taylor
    Bernabei
    CCV
    Phillips
    Lagerbielke

    MF
    Calmac
    Turnbull
    O'Riley
    Bernado
    Hatate
    Holm
    McCarthy

    FW
    Abada
    Maeda
    Forrest
    Johnston
    Palma
    Yang
    Oh
    Kyogo

I would probably replace Bernabei with Scales, use him as back up left back and CB.

Arrangements permitting, I would love to go to an away game - although I don't know which one would be the best. What's people's thoughts if they only had just the one option available?

Madrid. I’d avoid Rome and those scummy * fans at all costs.

While a factor, red bull Salzburg also have a smaller wage bill than us, while playing in the Austrian league, and seem to have better teams with players that get sold on for more money, I wouldn't say it's a more attractive league to play in than ours

I think pundits focusing in too much on either money or the league has long been a fairly lazy analysis In this country
