He ran a supporters bus in his younger days. Went abroad and made his money.Came back in the hour of need and saved the Club with a strict 5 year business plan. His vision and priority was to give the supporters a stadium to be proud of and set up a club income of 60,000 season tickets. The media tried to ridicule him and he took them to task along with the football authorities. He stood his ground and never wavered. I will always appreciate what Fergus McCann did for my club.HAIL HAIL

He was a smarter man with much better foresight and a vision of the future than lawwell ever could have.

Compare the two, one left taking out only the money he put in to the club. He left us with a modern new stadium, infrastructure to guide us forward, financially sound, and started the process that eventually stopped the 10 and on to the MON years

Lawwell? He will claim the titles while there was no great competition, but he talked as much * as David Murray did, forever dreaming up ideas of playing down south, museums and hotels....there is no legacy left.

Lawwell will claim the trophies all he wants, but he was here for 18 years and his legacy and what he leaves us with is a shattered club having just * the ten in epic disaster movie proportions.

Bunnet definitely took it hard at the time, but history is much kinder to him now and he knew that even back then.

Wonder what he makes of the current board.

It was his goal for ordinary supporters to own a piece of the club and he never wanted to see 1 person/family/group have control of the club the way the Kelly's and Whites did.

Really should be a statue of him. Dont wait until he's dead.

Without him Lawell wouldn't be raking in his huge bonuses the leech.

In all seriousness get a statue sorted.

Probably not that upset with it. He will see a very dominant Celtic team who are financially stable. You can dislike the board but they aren't worse than the Kellys.
I thought he said he didn't want one. He's always been quite humble about what he did When he dies I think the club will do something.

The wee man saved us and had the vision to rebuild us. He basically rallied a whole support to assist in making us successful but without racking up debt. He is the foundation of all we’ve achieved since. Which has been almost total dominance.

love the story TB told about when we were signing Andy Thom, he was at the stadium but wee Fergus was going to pull the plug on it as his advisors asked for more money. Hundreds of Celtic fans outside the stadium and TB told Fergus you go out and tell them then. Wee Fergus caved :giggle1:

Why did he sell all his shares to Desmond then?

One of the smartest things he did was build a bigger stadium than the huns. Gives us an in house advantage over them immediately if we sell all our seats.
