*'s too nice a word for Steve Claridge. He used to annoy me when he was on you're on sky sports a year ago and now he's haunting me now I've got Setanta. I've never noticed him supporting the huns but he certainly runs Scottish football down. The sort of guy who fails to remember us beating Liverpool and Man Utd in recent seasons and also the success of the National team against France in particular calling both games flukes.

I liked him compared to the presenter on YOSS though!

 

Gary Newbon? Brilliant presenter. Not afraid to tell a caller than he's talking * - although, obviously, not in such a vulgar manner.

 

That's the one. Sorry but I prefer Jimmy Hill to this character. He thinks England are Brazil the way he goes on and he's never got time to speak to Scottish callers in general.

I remember a scouser caller saying John Terry was so over-rated and gave examples of how there were so many better defenders on the planet and Newbon was almost reduced to tears. So true as well.

I think the fact that he got kicked out of his own show (Sunday Supplement) rather sums him up.

To be fair, why would a show on Sky Sports want to talk about the SPL? They don't have any rights to it so they won't want to advertise it in any way if possible.

 

Mind you, we only gave Barca a game in the first leg.

 

I agree 110% with this. It's so funny to see the English media all scratching their heads in disbelief when the national team are so average.
Let's face it, you're lucky if their top teams have any Englishmen in their line-ups. Well good ones anyway

If a lad is a Rangers man over Celtic, so be it. Each to their own etc. That doesn't bother me in the slightest.

However, Steve Claridge is still a total *. I've never come across a more obnoxious football pundit in my life (although Paul Merson is having a good stab at it).

He is never wrong, even when he clearly is, and he is totallly patronising and condascending to anyone who doesn't agree with his almighty opinions.

Quite clearly up at the top of the league in the 'person I'd most like to kick the * out of' stakes.

 

That pretty much sums the guy up. In contrast Peter Beagrie his colleague from YOSS is a very good football pundit.

 

i wouldn't give any creedance to anything claridge says, he was a journeyman player who failes miserably when he tried to manage so who cares what he thinks. how he ever got on TV is beyond me, he has a face like a well smacked *

 

I wouldn't listen to Claridge - on many occassion I've flicked onto Setanta News to see the * sitting there talking * and quickly flicked to another channel. For that reason I can't comment on his views as I've never heard them. He doesn't grab my attention whatsoever.

I also agree with the point above about Paul Merson - why on earth is he allowed an opinion on Sky Sports. The panel on Soccer Saturday spend most of the afternoon are correcting him. He is * clueless!!!

 

He can't be worse the Derek Johnstone.

Claridge = ignorant fud flap. Makes no real odds to me WHO he supports...if anything, i'm delighted that someone as ugly / pig ignorant can only support the Huns - by the sequence of logic this was inevitable.

Did he not try to get out of a dangerous driving conviction saying he urgently needed a slash as well?
