We need a curveball on Sunday. We can't line up the same as the last couple of games.

Time for Rodgers to earn his corn.

Start a crippled Hatate at LB, nobody will see it coming.

Play Joe Hart up front as the big target man, will confuse the huns. :50:

Even if we somehow get a LB in the next 4 hours, I doubt they'd start, so he's up against it come Sunday.

A win would do wonders to change Morale around here, it wouldn't suddenly fix everything, but by * do we need a bit of good fortune coming our way.

I wouldn't be upset with a draw, it's at Ibrox and we'd be ahead of them at the break. A loss wouldn't suddenly mean the league is gone, but considering how garbage the huns look, giving them an advantage at this stage is an absolute riddy.

Time to earn your dough now Brendan.

Known as a manager who develops players, well he's got no choice now seen as he's not been given the players needed.

If he can turn any of those 2 useless dicks into a left back then he'll really be as good a manger as we once thought he was.

Personally think he'll have a better chance with Bernabei, he at least has some attributes and could be developed. Taylors a lost cause. Signed 4 years ago as an spfl level player, he still is and likely always will be.

A bit confused by his comments about teaching the players how to win.

"It's just time, i know what it takes to win and I will show the players how to win."

This is a team that won the Treble last year and won 5 out of 6 trophies- a lot of those players will not look favourably on that kind of comment. Certainly a confusing one.

Looks like he's going to do it the hard way.

No reason for it to have come to this, but no use in complaining anymore, it's done, will be very interesting to see what the next Fan Media is like.

With Bernardo and Palma added and AJ and Hatate coming back from injuries, he should pretty much have a near perfect squad for his style of play. Taylor obviously the weak link, but with Maeda, Ralston and Turnbull out the squad we should look a lot more fluent.

This Sunday might come too soon for him and the team, but after the international break he has zero excuses if we continue to play boring, lacklustre football. I said a week ago I'd be giving him until Halloween to see if we up the ante with our style of play, both Domestically and in Europe. On paper, he's an elite level coach, time for him to start showing it.

Didn't want Rodgers and still don't, but looks like he's been short changed by the board.

Think he'll be here for a year at most and then gone.

Both because of the lack of backing but also because he's viewed comign back as an easy way to recover his reputation/standing. Unless we do something in the CL can't see it working for Rodgers, and him being in charge looks to have only had a negative effect so can't see this working.

Won't be disappointed if that's the way it plays out, other than its a year we could have been progressing as a club.

Exactly, but his arrogance has cost him twice. He needs to buck his ideas up if he doesn't want to be ruined as a manager by losing the league here. Even worse, he put extra responsibility on himself when he said he'd use and develop the players he gets from the board. He's got no other choice but to do his primary job- set up sensible tactics.

It's funny how the talk from the club media when he first got announced was all about pushing on in Europe but then as the weeks went on this "he's great at improving young players" stuff started getting brought up. Almost insinuating he'd be given what he gets and responsible for improving projects and young guys such as bernabei and the new lads.

Just a mental appointment all round and one I can't fathom from the board.

He must have been promised funds to improve in Europe no other reason for taking the job as he's done everything domestically at Celtic.
Think he's been sold a pup by the board and he can't be happy like the fans at present and wouldn't be surprised he walks away at the end of the season I wouldn't blame him .

Well that's it now and we just need to get behind the manager and hope he delivers. I've doubts but a result on Sunday would go a long, long way. Here's hoping the return of CCV, Nawrocki, AJ, and Hatate, alongside the introduction of Palma and Bernardo provides him with the tools he needs.

Sunday is so significant, I feel, even so early on. This is the time for him to really earn his bread.

Not a chance. No offence but that's utter nonsense and fanciful thinking which he himself denied.

There's no way he's been "sold a pup" by anyone.

You honestly think DD would promise him the world and ask for forgiveness for his last stint... Then * him over only a matter of weeks later?

The bottom line and uncomfortable truth is that he's entirely complicit in this * show.

Either through sheer unpreparedness (chatting bollocks about watching every game) or by apathy and deference to the board.

I thought it was a mistake to resign him then, I think it still is. My position at the time only strengthened by fucktard football, substandard results, and now an utter * show of a window... which we all saw as VITAL.

My biggest worry was his utter incompetence in spotting a player, and constantly putting faith in sub par performers.
Here we are again. One * window down and he's already trying to hammer square pegs into round holes.

It is BBC Sport. I don't know the context of the question but the answer rang a lot of alarm bells. I can't see the players, a lot of whom could be considered serial winners will like the sound of it.

I think all the talk when he first arrived of a 5 year plan and reaching a European final just all looks very silly now, talk is cheap, our priority should be to try and get back to being competitive in Europe once again.

The board are straw men. Simple as. Lawell too.

They live to serve our glorious absentee landlord that is Dermot Desmond; a man who challenges journalists to name a scoreline from 3 years ago, but can't name a manager outside of Ireland without a map and a Lawell recommendation.

There's quite literally zero difference between offering Neil Lennon the job in the showers of Hampden, to offering Brendan Rodgers the job in Mallorca. They both smack of lazy preferentialism and risk aversion.

The fact that even when Rodgers was announced favourite, that a large section of the support were saying "* no" should have had alarm bells ringing. Just like with Lennon.

Incidentally, I was all for giving Lennon the gig, as, at the time I thought Rodgers had left us European canon fodder, and was hoping Lennon could both "bring back the thunder" and scrape us some results in Europe, as well as do what I still think he does best... Galvanize a struggling squad to pull together.

Desmond has been a major hindrance to our on field development for over a decade now. It's one step forward , then two steps back.

The wage bill hadn't risen, even in lines with inflation, in what? ... 6 years? The transfer policy has seen us lose out on the likes of McGinn, Schaar, Tonev etc. We * away at least 5m to 8m a season on "project punt" (this season will be no different) whilst refusing to engage or approach anyone listed over the 10m mark without a LTB, and we continuously have to loan out and/ or offload 1-2m punts that never worked out or are surplus to keep the squad trimmed.

This IS NOT a self sustaining model, not in terms of a competitive football team like ours. It's quite literally pishing money up against the wall.

This is Arsenal under Wenger. Spurs under Levy.

Keep the bank balance secure, the product comes second.
Don't take risks in the market, keep the overheads low .
Don't hire a manager that we don't know, ignore the stats (ie. Knutsen).

If DD is still running our club like this in 5 years time we will well and truly be left behind in terms of EVER being considered a CL team.

We'll be resigned to Europa League also rans, and Conference League 2nd place group qualifiers.

I agree but would want him to say why he walked. Otherwise it’ll look like he’s done the dirty again and it’s all his doing. Call the board out and he’d be doing the Celtic support a massive favour.

I'd have liked the Ipswich manager

Probably missed the boat now though
