It's not different, but the majority of our signings in the last 18 months have been failures or have yet to show anything.

    Abildgaard, Iwata, Haksa, Yuki, Bernabei...

Nothing wrong, necessarily, with signings unknowns. But our hit rate has been really poor since Ange's first two transfer windows. The ones who were big hits were Kyogo, Hatate and Maeda (initially) and those were all guys doing extremely well in the J-League and known to Ange.

I think the feeling of anger and disappointment comes from solely buying these types of players (and Yang and Kwon are far, far less proven than the Japanese players) and essentially bypassing players with a more experienced and attractive CV - the likes of Juranovic, Starfelt, GG, Mooy.

Palma, Nawrocki and Lagerbielke are the most experienced permanent signings we've made and you wouldn't exactly say any of those three had a CV that reads anything like a Juranovic, for instance.

I think the main anger Sean is that we should have had all of this sorted weeks ago. We’re now panic buying/brining loan players in, who knows if we had brought these players in weeks ago, we’d be 3 points clear and still in the league cup?

How do you know they aren't improvements?
4th time of asking now. What made kyyogo an upgrade of aeddy? Hatate an upgrade, Maeade an upgrade? Jota, Abada, oH, CCV?...?

Can someone please tell why these platers were upgrades at the time?

Mentioned it in my latest post.

I know what you're saying about Kyogo, but his record in Japan was phenomenal. Comparing him to the signings of Kwon and Yang is doing him a disservice.

The fact you can read that whole post and that's the only thing you're taking from it. Come on man.

It called a debate. Something you are incapable of because you don't have an original thought in your head.

Circumstance made it different we had just lost the league and held on to Eddy a season to long he was always leaving and essentially the full squad needed an overhaul. Just now we're nowhere near that stage the team needs a couple of tweaks to hopefully take us on to the next level

It was Japan though. 3/4 of this forum was predicting Ange being sacked by Christmas. So why would his punts be any different?

Because Ange was obviously alot more "trusted" in the market than Rodgers.

Also some of the players you've quoted , Kyogo, Maeda, Hatate, etc, he had experienced them in the j league, and we were comfortable trusting his judgement.
CCV had been in and around the prem and had copious amounts of solid experience. Jota was really the only "unknown".

I'm actually very optimistic on Holm, Yang and I'm very hopeful that Rocky will come good and make the starting berth his own.

For me , personally, it comes down to the obvious neglect of key positions we all KNOW need strengthening, LB, GK and DM.

For example, I was delighted when we signed Bernabei, it didn't work out, but it was a move designed to strengthen the position and provide real competition for Taylor.

I've zero problem with signing "unknowns", but not at the expense of neglecting positions that we desperately need reinforced.

In BRs system, Taylor will be get * rinsed in the CL. Hart will continue to be "average", and our midfield will get walked all over without a real DM in there.

This is the reality. If we couldn't do anything about it, fine. But we're sitting on tens of millions and whatever budget we have seems to being misallocated.
The frustration is that * all appears to be being done to improve the starting 11 and make us competitive in Europe.

This is BRs first stint all over again. "I have enough wingers".

He contributes nothing to the forum. Just constant digs.

That was called trolling in my day.

He was buying players he had literally coached and played against and knew had the quality.

Unfortunately with that he also brought in Ideguchi and Yuki who were hopeless.

I have no problem signing unknowns mate, it’s our model. But it has to be mixed with more experienced players. Surely you can agree with that?

For me we’ve tipped too far into projects and not enough on experience, considering the position we’re in and money we have.

We don't know how well they will do but apart from Kwon I haven't seen many criticise the players who have joined. The issue some have is we have not upgraded the positions many see as weaknesses. We have not gained the power BR wanted in the team and have only invested a small account of our income.

It was Ange though. Most of this forum was predicting his demise by Christmas. So why would his punts from an inferior league be afforded instant time but our new singings are not?

Sorry mate, not referring that to you.

I mean at this stage they are an irrelevance to our club bcoz we have absolutely * all ambition other than being ever so slightly ahead of a club that died 10 years ago.

You can just imagine that fat * lawwell watching their game the other nite and saying thats it no more spending, they are worse than us and his goal for the season has been achieved
