But to call him "pure quality" at the time is missing the point. Sure we know that now but we didn't at the time.

I'm not actually advocating for him to start by the way but people are comparing players as we know them now to when they actually signed.

O’Rlley himself was playing league 1 then throwing into a huge pressure one well into the season, albeit played game before. He’ll probably not start but won’t be against it. Turnbull and ORiley will get ran all over, so won’t be them hopefully.

I’ll be in the pub for this as if we win I’ll be celebrating by drinking heavy and if we lose I’ll drown my sorrows by drinking heavy. Feeling more and more positive though because the closer it gets. CMON THE * HOOPS :boxing::celt_2:

If we win this. I think they will implode. It would possibly hurt them more than any other pumping we have handed out over the years.

Palma and Phillips training, least gives them a wee bit of time if they are getting flung in at the deep end.

No but he was a far more experienced player, he'd played 75 pro matches and won 2 league titles and a cup. Although I think Hatate started because he was needed at the time, it was him and Matt O'Riley or Soro and McCarthy. I'm not against Bernado staring, but he's not super experienced and being away to the huns is a big ask I think when being with Celtic for a few days. Maybe on the bench.

Looks like Phillips will be going straight into the team this weekend. A risk for sure but obviously with the injury issues we have at center back I can see it. He is a big lad and given we know our back line will be in for a physical confrontation assuming he looks ok match sharpness wise in training it makes sense given our injury situation.

I think starting with Scales would be an even bigger risk tbh.

I'm less concerned about this result so early in the season, win or draw (or dare I say defeat) we have players due back from injury and we have players to bed in. Confident we will win the league over a season, hoping people dont go too overboard with their emotions should the worst outcome happen On Sunday. Long way to go and we tend to grow into a season rather than come racing out the blocks

And you know Greg Taylor is going to play some mad MOTM performance akin to Bolingoli during that game where we hung on for a win with 10 men.

While I agree with you that we generally grow into the season, we shouldn't have been in this position in the first place. We should have strengthened the positions that we all know needed strengthened pre season and went to ipox in confidence however, here we are, heading there with a weaker starting eleven than we had last season.
