Aye, and by then it's too late to do anything about it! Hence people have been complaining the last few weeks, when we can actually do something and improve the starting 11.

 

I think what some people here are struggling to understand is that we're not writing off Yang, Kwon, Tilio etc. In fact I think a couple of them will end up being cracking signings.

It's that we went into a transfer window months ago knowing our weakest areas of the pitch, and we've failed to address them. We've failed to sign enough first team ready players. Aye, Kwon could end up being great. But is he ready to solve our CDM problem now? No, nowhere near it. And that's the issue right there.

See if we'd signed a proper left back, goalkeeper, first team ready CDM etc. And added to that with the likes of Tilio and Yang? * perfect. No complaints.

But yet again we're signing "what if" players with an eye on what they MIGHT become, rather than signing players who we have complete confidence in to hit the ground running immediately as we head into another CL campaign.

Why is that so difficult for some to get their head around?

Exactly, saying this transfer window has been bad ≠ saying the prospects we sign are crap and have no future at the club.

What we can definitively say though is that none of them improve our starting 11 from last year - that's fact.

Champions league is irrelevant.

The board don't give a * what we do in europe as long as they rake in vast sums of money from it that's all that matters. Getting into group stages is as far as their ambition goes, mainly bcoz it's another chance to fleece another £140 from the fans.

If you need any more proof of our ambitions in europe look at what we achieved in the 2 or 3 years before Lawwells arrival compared to the 20 years after it.


We can moan about them all we want it won't achieve anything. The support have allowed these * * to turn us into this over the last 20 years and until we all do something about it absolutely * all will happen. They know they can do whatever the * they want and we'll still pay up and line their pockets. Proof of that was shown in the covid season when they refused to sack a guy who clearly wasn't in any fit state to be in the job and if you belive the stories at the time actually kept him on longer as a * you to the fans for having the cheek to complain.

The board/recruitment team deserve plenty of stick for the shambles this window has been but manager isnt blameless either.

He's looked at Hart and Taylor and decided that he didn't need to bring in improvements in that area.
