Possibly, but I wouldn't be surprised if clubs contacted us for quick loans last night or this morning, someone who we were interested in previously and made contact is still available.

With quick loans done on deadline day, I'd assume a buy clause could be worked out after the loan and be added as it's only the transfer of registration that needs to be done tonight.

Sometimes you have to focus on the here and now and not who might come good in 6 months time.

We've had the whole summer to identify a GK and a LB, canny understand why it's so difficult for us to get it done.

Bringing prospects in and further down the line selling them for a good profit makes a lot of sense from a financial and playing point of view, but there has to be a balance in our approach, investment in the first team is vital if we are to be competitive.

Would be incredible if we went with Taylor and Bernabei as our LB options again.

    Pure negligence.

Comes down to what your post before said. Lack of ambition and conservatism. Who's making that call and why have they made that call.

Are the huns our measuring stick. Just stay ahead...that's a * * barometer. You can achieve and progress in Europe without going bust. We just don't have that ambition or the folk who have that knowledge.

Massive amounts of cronyism the past 15 years. Europe has been very poor in that time. Which pretty much coincides with PL reign. Constants are him, DD and silent Chairmen who are yes men and other suited board members.

Need an overhaul of the hierarchy and a football director who can oversee the football side. Think this summer has highlighted that our recruitment was driven by Ange.

Anyway. I'll reserve judgement until 0001 of our window tomorrow. But it's being very lack lustre and uninspiring.

Things could turn south should we lose on Sunday as well. All these points will be magnified to no end.

The thing is mate, Rodgers himself knows they are not good enough, i find this very confusing, why would a manager not want to improve/strengthen his team ?

It was only a few weeks ago that Rodgers himself said that Hart was a player coming to the end of his career, surely to * we are not gonna keep playing him and watch his decline play out as we drop points and lose games along the way ?

I know it isn't this simple at all.

The there is an entire world full of countries that play football at varying levels...is it really that hard for even a club like Celtic, who may not the billions like Real Madrid, Man City, PSG or even the EPL level of money, but we still have millions to spend. Where we can't go out into world and source players?

So, on that basis, are you ok about potentially losing titles and/or guaranteed champions league access so that we can be stronger in the future, as opposed to now?

For what it's worth, I'm not saying we are going to lose the title. I'm making the argument that you're willing to sacrifice potential short term losses, for longer term gain in players. I think that's flawed, given we know if Holm and Yang do blossom in the next 18 months, the club will sell them when the right offer comes in. So, you're then back to square one.

Would have just been nice for the club to actually address the problem positions we had, properly. Instead, they've taken more gambles on more projects when our club is already filled with failed prospects. I know there is a counter argument to that, by the way. I know you can spend £5m/£6m and still sign a dud. Scouting is a huge part of it.

Exactly mate, this is where the recruitment team should be earning their money, it's unacceptable for a club of our size, there are hidden gems out there, good value to be had in the right places, we are a club with a helluva lot to offer a player.

If we were to go out, now, and sign a PROVEN decent LB and a PROVEN , decent DMC, then for me, the window would be saved.

A success if we added a GK on top of that.

    Not gonna happen.

But if we leave this entire window without signing an upgrade on Taylor then we're *.

Adding to that, There are PLENTY of markets that we can both explore and indeed exploit.

There's absolutely zero chance that in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, Africa ,or even the USA or South America, there's not a LB that is vastly superior to Greg Taylor, that we could buy for under 7m, and has more than enough first team experience to be deemed not a "project".

    It's just * negligence.

The aim coming out of every window is to come out stronger and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would say at the moment we are stronger.

I don’t think anybody is writing them off. They are projects though, otherwise we would have seen them starting games so far. The likes of Kyogo, Hatate, Maeda etc come in and went straight into the starting eleven.

I thought Rodgers coming back was the guarantee that there would be serious investment, apparently this is not the case, in fact it seems to be the opposite as all we hear about is his ability to develop players.
