Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

Good to see some names linked but it has only really gone to confirm the fear that there is no real strategic planning in our recruitment it is totally scatter gun.

The lack of left back and goalkeeper rumours really worry me, probably the two most obvious positions to fill at the end of last season and nothing done about it yet.

Now linked with a centre midfielder we were linked with last year, two strikers/ forwards have come up. One of my only hopes is if we are looking at old lists Solbakken might pop up again given he’s available. He’s the type of player I think would thrive in our team and league.

Centre back I don’t blame them with injuries as Nawrocki looks a decent buy, not sure yet on Lagerbielke, I might have preferred Mbuyamba but we identified targets and got them.

I remain convinced Yang was signed as an Abada replacement but we have ended up keeping him. Jota left two months ago now and Mooy retired a similar time line ago we signing three very young immature players one who is out injured from arrival and two centre midfielders one of who has not had a sniff yet which is worrying that they were seen as a physical centre midfielder and we look lightweight yet he can’t get near the team.

Palma seems a good addition but what’s took so long?

Hopefully get a few more in before Fridays deadline but realistically how many will play on Sunday?

 

There are variances imnnot trying to argue it all stands true, but they're all comparable roles despite their differences, if you start signing people on a far higher wage you do need to expect that it will cause disruption, if you're a mainstay first choice player that is a key contributor that ends up going from a top paid player to someone earning far less that that what does that say about you?

I've had it happen to me where new people have joined on more money than me and I was the one training them before, leaves you feeling mighty * off and I went straight in to get that fixed, if it wasn't I'd have left.

 

I know there was a few rumours yday but the lack of links to a left back n gk is quite worrying…….

 

GK is something we’ve neglected for years. The only time we’ve actually spent half decent money on one they were arguably the worst we’ve ever had.

It’s something that always costs us. Hart did a nice job stepping in and he’s a good guy to have around, but he should always have been considered a stopgap.

 

Some definitely would.

It's genuinely an absolute farce we find ourselves in this position at this point in the window of the back of the previous 2 seasons we've had

 

I am not massively optimistic but I can see a possibility of it.

- The left winger is done. Palma
- Centre midfielder sounds well down the road Bernardo LTB
- Centre back we will get someone just not sure how bad they will be, it will be a loan.
- striker we seem to be serious about a couple so likely someone there.
- left back been a lot of rumours we have identified one.

Goalkeeper see even if Siegrist goes and we get one I doubt it will be someone to be number 1.

Is there any sniff of a left back?

 

I think we are all clutching at straws now re getting in signings before the huns game and the levels of desperation has consumed our very souls.

 

I think they will feel the wrath of the majority of the Celtic support if they fail to do so
