Kyogo up front with Palma on the left, O'Riley behind and Solbakken on the right. Ooooft.

On the theme of players who are in the last year of their deal in EPL but not going to be in their teams squads.

Steven Alzate, 24 year old Colombian international at Brighton, had a good season out on loan at Standard Liege last year, is surplus to requirements and expected to leave. Looks exactly what our midfield needs.

Andi Zeqiri - 24 year old, versatile forward from Brighton again. Had a good season on loan at Basel Particularly in the Conference League where they got to the semi final. Can lead the line as a striker as he is around 6 foot tall and decent pace, can play with his back to goal and is a decent all round finisher.
Also used to playing in a front 3 that is versatile.

Malang Sarr from Chelsea his value seems to have totally tanked when he looked a very good prospect when they signed him. (Has two years left on his deal).

Christ, that Alzate looks unreal. Mental he's not been given a chance at Brighton. They're the one team in the EPL who seem to pick up ridiculous talent and persevere with them. Looking at Alzate with Leige last year, 3 goals and 5 assists from CM in 27 games in the league... that's good going in Belgium.

The video is put together by his agency so will be his best bits; but it makes him look like a Mooy with legs to me.

He would likely be in our price range too given his contract situation.

Why did we not ask the question about Ndombele on loan?

    We can’t compete with Genoa?

£4m valued on transfer market. Can't see them asking for much more than that, to be honest.

Yeah you would maybe get him for less as that’s €4m and he is in his last year of his deal, so if they don’t sell him this week it’s likely he goes for less than £1m in January or nothing.

The fact he won’t be in their league or Euro squads probably means they would be happy getting the wage of the books plus a couple million or so.

Probably because he’d have absolutely zero intention of coming to play football in Scotland, even if we were willing to contribute to his astronomical wages and take a punt on his extremely questionable attitude.

Thanks mate, didn’t think I’d get a direct answer from the club on that one.

Yeah, Genoa have pull for every player over Celtic. Sounds dead common sensey.

For most players of his profile, though, it won't be Genoa over Celtic. It'll be Serie A and Italy over the Scottish Premiership and Scotland. He's been kicking about in the top 5 leagues of Europe for 6/7 years and played 30 league games for Napoli last season. Not a chance he comes to Scotland.

Different if it's us and Genoa trying to sign a younger player coming from a league in Scandinavia or Eastern Europe, for example. Then we might be more attractive.

Honestly, how some people haven’t click on to this is beyond me.

If you’re not a Celtic supporter then the choice is simple: (a) spend a year living on the Italian coast and playing your football in Serie A with trips to Milan, Inter, Juve, Napoli, etc; or (b) spend a year in the shithole that is Glasgow playing in a * league with trips to Dingwall, Dundee and Motherwell.

    Its not even a question.

It is individual dependent, there are literally thousands of players who want to perform in the Champions League and will place that above the national league in general. Naturally.

Intentionally skirting round the 60k home fans every second week, adulation of one of the biggest supported clubs in the world and a platform to move onto bigger and better things.

Your wee personal template for career development and happiness is yours.

It is, but you're not going to have many (if any at all) players coming off the back of regular minutes in a Serie A title winning side, happy to come to Scotland on loan when he'll have other options in much better leagues. It's just massively unrealistic. A 26 year old French player entering what should be the peak years of his career isn't coming to this league on loan when he's always played in the best leagues in Europe.

And let's be honest, the Champions League carrot is hardly the most enticing these days at Celtic. He'll be getting 6 games in the competition and most likely be on the end of at least 3 hammerings.

Not at all skirting around any of that, but the harsh reality is that the vast majority of professional footballers view Scottish football as a backwater. So a French international who has already played in France, England and Italy, as well as at the top level in the Champions League, simply isn’t going to entertain a move to Scotland at this stage of his career.

It’s absolutely absurd to think he would. Even before bringing finances into it.

His attitude isnt good and he is on huge wages. I dont think BR would put up with him for long even if it was financially feasible.

I see Fulham have signed a keeper, I wonder if Rodak
Apparently Olympiakos are trying to get him on a loan to buy with £4m buy price. Please ask the question on that. He would be a proper Jota replacement in the team.
