See the people that are scoffing at the very thought Lawwell could be sticking his nose into our transfers. Why do you think this window has been one like we used to experience time and time again when he was here previously, but wasn’t the case when he was away for a couple of years? What’s the theory as to why we are back * about?

Went out the cup last week and have been ridiculously slow..

Go another week and drop 2 points against easily the worst side in the league. Still no one in the door..

3 days til the window closes and we're significantly weaker, need about 5 first team players in and have a squad bloated with pish..

A disgrace is what this is. They should've been shook up in to action on Saturday to press ahead and get some swift action done. To get players in so we can go to the shitpit with a decent enough side..

Have they? Have they *. Bunch a *..

The current team will get absolutely pummelled in the Group Stages. I’ve no doubt about that. So talk of making a mark in Europe is nonsense, because we will be out of Europe completely before Xmas unless we bring in 3 or 4 starters by Friday.

Exactly where I'm at. We've been pumped before in Europe. After the last couple of weeks, we need to be looking closer to home.

6 weeks ago this would have been OK. 3 weeks ago I was still relatively optimistic.

Now I’m not even excited about watching us this weekend :giggle1: We are woefully inept and rely far too much on personal connections than actual, carefully thought out scouting

I’m a bit scunnered and I’ve been one of the more positive ones this summer, so that should tell you a lot

Tried to avoid pain stations, telling maself everything gonna be fine. But now it’s time to worry.

Europes gonna be a humiliation with this squad and honestly now fear for Sunday with what’s available to us

    You're no the only one..

We had the chance again to put the foot down on them. They had the big rebuild. Rookie manager. Poor start where their fans were close to the panic buttonand already restless. Yet they're now more settled due to our incompetence..

Aye we've had some unfortunate injuries but if actually went and signed a Jota replacement quicker....we wouldn't have dropped points and we'd feel more confident going in to Sunday..

We should've been in a position where we were fairly settled and going to them with the carrot of going 6 clear and striking an early hammer blow. Particularly with them going to Eindhoven just before and playing a massive game..

Yet it's us who are downbeat, despite them no even being a good side and looking dreadful in almost all of their games so far.....and having no much confidence whatsoever about getting a result..

    It's a joke..

    Yep.

It’s never a massive shock when we make a complete * of a transfer window, but this is as bad as I can remember.

Off the back of a treble. Guaranteed CL money (second season in a row) and £25m for Jota. And we’ve still somehow only managed to sign projects and completely failed to strengthen the first team in the slightest.

A dereliction of duty from the board.

Don't even care about signings - since Rodgers' statement mentioning sustainability and the business model I've known the signings won't be exciting. I do want sensible tactics, though. Rodgers' career depends on getting things right on Sunday.

It is * strange all over the place. Rodgers first left because the club did not show enough ambition in the transfer market. That is a known fact as he have said that in many interviews. He then come back and the club shows absolute no ambition what so ever. Can't get a grip of this situation.

Ange managed to make signings which were both sustainable AND exciting, whilst getting the business done swiftly and effectively, which is why we'll miss him so much in the coming years......

This is it for me as well.

No matter which angle you look at this, it doesn´t make any sense at all. None whatsoever.

Rodgers wasn´t obliged to come back. He could´ve easily sat back and waited for another position.
So why do it, as it now starts in exactly the same way it ended last time around?

He also made subtle digs at his unveiling about how things he had suggested had now been implemented in the time he had been away from the club.

Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a report from Denmark that made it clear Celtic were going to struggle to sign Mathias Kvistgaarden.

The Brøndby striker has been a target for Brendan Rodgers to bolster his attack, and B.T. Spor reported that an offer of €4m had been rejected, which was followed by a second no when the Scottish side said they were ready to pay more.

That’s why the latest claim from TuttoMercatoWeb, labelled as an exclusive of theirs, regarding Celtic being ‘one step closer’ from signing Kvistgaarden is a big surprise.

They reveal that an ‘understanding’ between the two sides is now ‘very close’ after the Parkhead side ‘submitted an offer of around €5m’ to Brøndby to convince them.
That’s more than the previously reported DKK 35m (just over €4m) by B.T. Spor, but that also doesn’t sound enough to be life changing for the Superliga side, who had already told Celtic that a bigger offer would be turned down.

Down the player’s end, it’s said Kvistgaarden is ‘ready to change leagues’, suggesting he would be more than up for the move of challenging for titles in the green and white of the Glasgow side.

Something to keep an eye on, because these are two very contrasting stories.
