Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

And then the next morning when it's reported the transfer actually fell through because we didn't submit the correct paperwork.

 

You'd hope the lack of action is because we've been waiting on our no.1 targets to commit. And if they fall through, as a backup we have other capable targets identified for whom we've already negotiated deals with their clubs.

I'm not confident we're that well prepared though.

 

Under Ange, we often didn't want to wait for the no. 1 target to commit and went to other options faster. O'Riley was an example.

 

You'd assume so but not much evidence so far. Was it the signing of Shved the Ukrainian winger during BR 1st spell where he basically said it was none of his doing and he basically didn't want him?

 

This is what has changed, I think. BR got the board to only sign players with his approval. If he doesn't desperately need a GK now, that's why we're not hearing about any. He does want a cover CB.

 

Can’t see us being linked with anyone today never mind signing anyone.

 

It could be that we're seeing a staring contest between Rodgers and the board. They have affordable targets that Rodgers won't sign off on, as he is demanding better quality.

It would explain how we're in this position.

In general we just seemed a whole lot more organised.

That first summer, even when things were a bit chaotic, we wanted to bring in that Man City RB (I think he was even at one of the games watching) but when that didn't work out, we were quick to move onto Juranovic.

Then eventually it got to the point where we not only had replacements lined up for players, but often brought them in before the player we were selling had even left, like Johnston.

 

This year the 'European nights' won't be very long! But never mind..we can play the blue tarts 5 times in one season if we get the right cup draw! Yaaaay so exciting.....

 

I think our "business" is done for this window. Something is seriously wrong with the club. Fans can feel it. Something is off. It's like cancer showing signs but you don't know the diagnosis yet.

Yan Couto was the RB who rejected our loan offer. Then later, Souza. We would just switch to others. Now, we seem kinda lost and confused.

 

Shambles.

 

Can’t see us signing anyone on a permanent basis out with Palma now.

Maybe a short term deal for a free agent CB and a LB loan from City.

 

Probably be going into the Hun game with what we've got, eh..

Maybe the bench for our new signings.. if we make any..
