You honestly think we could afford all those players in today's market? A player of Larsson's quality would easily command north of 100k a week in the top leagues.

The club are doing their upmost? You really think so?

We sign players cheap so we can try and punt them for profit. That's are model. Not to improve or better our first team or squad. Look at the state of our squad and the signings we made this summer, * second division Korean league, Scales before that, 22 year old from league of Ireland, you think that's doing our best?

Nothing against signing young prospects if they are accompanied with real first team quality.

Just look at our European record for the last 15 to 20 years.. its an absolute embarrassment.

No mate but he gave Ginola as an example..a pointless example so I gave players of the same era that did want to play for us

We honestly don't know if it's the one individual or the whole fecking lot of the board who are responsible for the * situation we now find ourselves in however, what we do know is that it's reminiscent of the dark old days and they all have neglected their duties. Nepotism within the club and an absent landlord also doesn't help.

All I know is if we keep with the same "model" and board and same people running the club we are going to fall further and further behind untill we are an absolute irrelevance outside of Glasgow.

As far as Im concerned the current "model" can't take us any further. How can we change that? * knows but it needs to change

But you could argue it in a number of ways. I'm just playing devil's advocate.

In 2000 we signed Chris Sutton for £6m..a proven EPL striker albeit coming off the back of a poor season.

You could times that by 3 now and only get Ollie McBurnie.

There's still value to be had for us I agree and we aren't looking in the right places but there's no denying for me the market has changed to such a degree that it makes it really hard for us to compete. MOST of the time.

He's a bit of a lightning rod IMO. He attracts flak that's headed for other parts of the organisation. I'm not sure how this started; but I genuinely wonder if it was part of the reason they brought him back.

I think it's fairly clear that he had strengths and weaknesses when he was Chief Executive. I think most people can agree about that deep down, even if it sometimes feels good to focus on his mistakes at the expense of his achievements or vice versa.

I'm honestly not clear on what his role as chairman now actually entails, how much influence he has on our transfers or how much of the current mess he might or might not be responsible for.

Literally not what I said. I said ‘if’ I said something like that, then I would be defending the board.
Yep we take cheap punts. It’s the market we operate in.

He has had success and rarely receives the praise he probably deserves. I mean the amount of domestic success speaks for itself.. we've been well run through some difficult financial times too..

But, through history we never build from a position of strength and that certainly can be levelled at him and those before him..

    He's a *

I've said before he's the type of boy if you put something for sale on ebay for £20 he would message asking if you would take a fiver.

Looking back now how the likes of Ronny were treated is disgusting with some of the absolute * we forced on him.

We wouldn't pay the money for McGinn until someone else was willing to pay it. We gambled on the 10iar season and it backfired and then rather than sack Lennon it was worked out it would cost too much so * it just let it roll as Lennon was getting the flack.

Should be nowhere near our club. Yes was here for successful times but who was gonna win the league instead of us during that period??? That's right nobody else.

I think the gap is much bigger now. A mid-table EPL team just absolutely demolished one of the best teams in Scotland in Edinburgh without breaking a sweat and when I saw the score, I wasn't the slightest bit surprised. I remember English fans used to say that Celtic would be relegated in the EPL and I laughed at them (quite rightly so too!). I don't laugh at those comments anymore.

Yes mate I realise the market has changed so much for us, I am not denying that. When Ange came in he suggested we would start aiming at buying players between 5m and 10m, we needed to kick on. We havnt.

Forget England.. but I'm sure we could get better players in that price range from other leagues that are far better quality to what we are signing.

What is the point of signing players like Scales, Kwon, Soro, Kobayashi those two numpties from Sheffield Wednesday..? Would the money not be better spent signing two good players for the same value?

The amount of money we have wasted on utter dross and punts would make you cry. Love someone to put a list together of the players signed under PL.

Just scunnered with this transfer window and the state of our squad. where are we going as a club?

A '* squad' that, minus 3 players, completed winning a treble less than 3 months ago. Funny that.

It was Hibs.. a team from Sweden put 7 or 8 past them a few years back. Hibs are and always will be a basket case. Edit. Beaten 7-0 at Easter Road 9-0 on aggregate

The whole Celtic and huns in the EPL is a stupid argument. If we got the money they get ftom tv and sponsors we'd have no problem competing.

A squad that failed to score against killie and St Johnstone 2 weeks running.. funny that

There's about 13 players in our squad that if we let go tomorrow it wouldn't make a difference. Sorry, it would probably * improve it

He’s never absent when he’s taking his profit or flexing his golf arm because something has damaged (or risks damaging) those profits.

Once the STs are all renewed…. what reason is there for them to comply with anything that fans want or that would detract from the profits and resulting dividends & bonuses?

There will be some empty and insincere words in a few months at the AGM designed to appease disgruntled minor shareholders and supporters. I predict another apparently barbed but ineffective snipe about referees & VAR - designed to look like they are armed with the evidence and about to launch a bias stats neutron bomb on the SFA - but that will just bring on media mocking from the usual suspects because they know it will amount to nothing….

…. and it will work as the stakeholders (just like the res 12 situation) again hope that it finally means the club takes action on things…. (Despite knowing they never do.)

It’s going to be an ugly event at best… imagine it if we are struggling in the league and out of Europe..

Maybe they will surprise us over the next few days… but the cynic in me doubts it very much.

Fair enough I read that wrong..my apologies

Why is cheap punts a market we operate in when we have million upon millions in the bank? If we spent on quality every year we'd nearly be guaranteed CL money every year.

Why are we still buying League of Ireland and S.Korean second division players, freebies from Englsh dross? We have money, we make money. We spent how much so far this transfer window? One player so far good enough for the first team if we are injury free from what I can see

"Going to make a mark on Europe" wasn't that the quote? With taking cheap punts or the market we shop in :56: the only mark we will make in Europe is something similar to the shitstain the huns left on it last season.

Players don't suddenly turn bad in 3 months. Or are you saying that we only won the league because of Jota, Mooy & Starfelt? There has been a big change in the way the new manager has wanted the team to play, side to side, possessioon and Kyogo literally running the wrong way, into MF instead of beyond the striker. Can't blame it all on players when a very big reason is pretty obvious.
