The huns targeting a player doesnt automatically mean he's pish, I'd have happily taken Cifuentes for example.

I doubt we get the Petersborough boy, would cost at least £7 million and we need a LB, GK and CM more first.

 

See the reality of the situation in Global football terms they are skint and we are poor (or are managed like we are), there are definitely players they go for that would be decent signings for us.

The gulf in what they can afford and what we spend isn’t that big. They also are more careless in throwing big wages about than we are to land cheap bosmans.

Don’t get me wrong they are worse run and more unstable but accept a greater risk profile when doing transfers than we do. As a result we probably do shop in a slightly more expensive market at times but there is a big overlap between who both clubs look at.

 

Mikey Johnstone, Rocco Vata and Albian Ajeti are also not on that list.

Spend half a mill on Jacynta to get back, and then tell Starfelt we're holding her hostage so if he wants to see her he needs tae get a 6month loan to us to cover injuries Defence sorted...this manager stuff is easy.

Correct, CB is the 1 position we actually took action on, we've just been unlucky to get 3 long-term injuries to 3 players in quick succession. You can't write bad luck like that.

For everywhere else we're absolutely at fault for not being quicker though.

A loan til Christmas for a CB that's not in the picture elsewhere should suffice.

 

I’d like to think that lessons will be learned from this window but it’s clear we’ve spent the full window chasing KT and Podence so still repeating the mistake of waisting an entire window waiting on EPL players. On the goalkeeper and centre mid areas, there’s been nothing concrete that we were ever after an upgrade in those areas so that’s incompetence at worst and complacency at best

 

Was KT ever a serious option? I doubt it tbh..

We would have needed Arsenal and the player to make serious financial concessions, never going to happen..

 

I doubt Tierney was ever a target.
