Wouldn't be against him starting at Ibrox, the midfield will need more bite

I’d have started him if he had more game time under his belt to release Cal further forward with MOR.

MOR and Turnbull is not the solution to any problem.

    Far more useful than Turnbull.

Iwata was very good at making runs into space and getting forward, similar to what Hatate does. So it’s not as if we would be too defensive with him in there, he’d certainly bring a better balance and quality into midfield.

Would be a huge risk to chuck him in from the cold against the huns although I wouldn’t be totally against it. Yet to really see him get going at all here however there’s no doubt the current midfield just isn’t working at all.

The thought of Turnbull starting at Ibrox is terrifying

Why? He has literally done nothing in a Celtic jersey and during his last run out against Bilbao he looked woeful. He has not shown anything since he got here to merit a starting spot in any position. A classic example of a player seeming to be a better option purely down to not playing and avoiding the flak.

The few appearances he's made have all been in defensive positions and he's done little of note in any of them so I don't know where this talk of him having quality and getting forward come from. There's a reason he's been stuck on the bench since he got here.

Whatever anyone thinks of Turnbull the facts are that he has a good goal-scoring record for us(for a CM) and he's created an awful lot of chances too. He's not in the best of form ATM for sure and ideally we'd have better options to call on but to say Iwata is more useful is simply untrue. Iwata as of this moment hasn't done a thing in a Celtic jersey.

Where is all this sudden faith in this Chap coming from?

He's done the square root of * all in a Celtic jersey but suddenly he's ready for a trip to ibrox? How many league games has he actually started for us in CM in the league? If its more than a handful I'd be amazed

Several games off the bench into midfield end of last season, namely the huns at Hampden and Hearts at home. His movement in midfield was very good along with his passing and defensive side.

I’d rather judge him off those games than when he was being played out of position.

Various types of games require specialized kinds of players. This situation, and this upcoming game call for Iwata. Rodgers better turn his brain on, and pick the closest player we have to the oh-so-mentioned combo of power and pace.

That's the approach anyone with the memory span longer than a gold fish would take.

When I said defensive positions I was including his work in midfield because he's a defensive midfielder primarily. That's the position Ange signed him to play. As for all this supposed good play he's produced all I can say is I must have missed it.

We're a dead cert to play a McGregor O'Riley Turnbull midfield at ibrox, which is a * travesty seeing as we've all known since last year that's not a midfield that works

Nothing wrong with my memory and I can assure you Iwata has done absolutely nothing of any note in a Celtic Jersey so far and in his last outing for us he was awful. He may come good yet but will need a big improvement.

Would much rather he started ahead of Turnbull.

Seen how Hatate is out I'd much rather utilise the engine and attacking ability of McGregor further up the field than have him sitting deep of a midfield three trying to dictate tempo and have the ball at his feet mere centimetres away from our CB's

Sad state of affairs when people want him to start at the shitpit. Ange signed him and barely played him.

Not saying he won't come good but he's done nothing to deserve a start the weekend even if the alternatives are * too.

The state of affairs is so sad we must try something new. If that doesn't happen, we get beat on Sunday.
