We had diddies from the English lower leagues flicking it over our players heads and making a * of them yesterday....from one of the worst top flight sides I've ever seen. If Maeda or Abada tried that they'd probably land on their face..

He will be one of our most important players at the weekend, he is a machine against the Huns.

People have the shortest of memories.

Defensively, you're right and he'll have more space to use his pace. But he's not very effective against a packed defence, especially when our tempo is too slow to really shift then about

Describing him as a machine against the huns is exaggerating a bit.

Did you miss the game at the midden in January? He was absolutely outstanding.

He generally has a good game against the huns.

How can Rodgers (and Ange for that matter) not see that he is worse than useles against a packed defence, ie most games in Scotland. The guy couldnae trap a bag of cement ffs....

I don't mind him against Rangers but he's never a starter for us. Fine to have in the squad though.

You’d expect a half decent international forward to be able to work the goalkeeper or even play a reverse pass to player asking for it (can’t work out who it is from video), just no footballing brain..

Aye tbh, I wouldn't actually worry about him against the huns, it's the one game where I'd expect him to be good, he completely nullifies Tavernier every time we play them.

Against any sort of low block and he's pretty useless.

Aye if it's a choice between him and Abada away at them then he wins it 10 times outta 10..

He'll deffo have space and his pace does worry them. Tavernier likes to get forward and can't defend....actually looking worse and worse these days..

Chatting to a Celt at work. She read that Maeda said he is still thinking in terms of Ange's style when he plays and is struggling with BR's system at the moment

I can see the thought of that tbf, it looks to me like he’s conserving energy rather than being constant like he was under Ange and seeing that in pre season it looked like it brought out a better first touch and more technique and that made sense to me that because seen a few players when they slow down a bit have far better, Ryan Christie being the major one I always said it about. Might just have been a good couple games in friendlies and not having a clue what Rodgers actually wants off him though.

Because looking at positions he’s picking up it looks as tactically bereft as a lot of other positions we’re seeing.

The only proper tactical switch outwith the full backs to a more Rodgers style has been Kyogo. And it looked * good for a few games, then the weekend there especially looked like he never knew what he should be doing. He wasn’t really dropping off or going in behind

Watching Yang so far from his cameos, he looks like the exact type of player I’d want to go up against him. Taverniers biggest weakness has always been getting squared up against to try and defend him going by, but his other big weakness is when people press him in his 3rd of the pitch. And Maeda’s made him * the bed a few times. Either or I’d be happy if we go with.

As long as on the other side of the pitch we have Abada playing because Barisic is * petrified of him. And if if you look at where most of the chances they’ve had so far has come from, it’s been Barisic. He can’t get forward if he’s worrying too much where he should be for Abada
