Im not filled with any real confidence or conviction that we have had quality targets lined up.

It wasnt only the transfer window, the pre season was mismanaged as well. We had players come back from injury who never got sufficient game time before the beginning of the competitive matches, which Rodgers has even conceded was a factor in CCVs injury.

If it was a case that Rodgers needed to assess what he had in the team, we should have had more games on the return from Japan with a different starting side in each against a decent level opposition. Weve been too slow to take action.

These are basics which the organisation should have learned from the lessons of past.

 

Guys relax! Just need equivalent of 1 signing a day. Plenty of time for it to happen.

He didn't want to come to us even on loan. I'm more disheartened by the fact that Ange didn't give Abildgaard enough of a chance.

 

Abildgaard who couldn't trap a bag of cement and at some non entities in Serie B..

 

To be fair, Ange had his fair share of flops too.

 

We signed the MVP from the J league who is supposedly a CDM but have never given him a run.

Rodgers himself deserves major stick for our performances over the last month, but I can't help but think that the Board have royally * this window.

Back in June, almost everyone agreed that Taylor and Hart needed proper competition for the upcoming season, and Siegrist and Bernabei were clearly not the required standard. We also agreed that we needed a CB, maybe even 2, before the season started, with CCV out and Kobayashi/Welsh not up to standard. There was also the fact that Abada looked like he his his Ceiling at Celtic, so either a replacement RW or a back-up RW was also required.

We then lost both Mooy and Jota at the end of June, so that left a very clear pathway of transfers. GK, LB, CB x2, CM, LW, RW.

Rodgers mentioned about wanting to assess the squad for July, and that's fair enough, but there was no reason not to have replaced Jota and Mooy by the end of July, and no, Holm wasn't a Mooy replacement. We completely neglected their replacements. We got the CB'S in, a young CM and a CDM from the K2 League, alongside 2 RW'S, but let's be honest, we'd still be scrambling about for a CB had Starfelt's agent not contacted us and Yang/Hyeok were linked in January.

It was evident after the Kilmarnock game that Taylor doesn't fit this system, and Hart was declining, but for some reason we completely neglected bringing in competition for said players, so they essentially had a free pass to play, well, pish.

To STILL not have proper competition at LB and GK is negligent from the club, to not have properly replaced Mooy and Jota was inept, and I don't think we'll even get a Mooy replacement come the end of the window. A serious injury to Hatate/O'Riley and we're relying on David Turnbull and a 20 year old.

If Celtic sign 5 players in the next 4 days and pump the huns 5-0 at Ibrox, then great! It still wouldn't take away how poorly ran the club has been the last 2 months.

Nicholson and Rodgers have a lot of questions to answer, but I think it simply boils down to one fact, the club relied on Ange for everything.

I wouldn't worry, the minute things go good he'll disappear again, didn't see him once during Ange's tenure.
