Lad is better suited in the centre forward position in this system, as was shown with his good preseason form. BR football is dull and not aggressive, he’s better in an aggressive system where he is pressing from the front and got the speed to run in behind the defenders.

 

Next game should be his cup of tea. Lots more defending- in fact, we'll be charged by zombie hordes and it'll get ugly.

He was only effective because it was friendlies we were playing and there was room to run into. That’ll never happen in 99% of the games in Scotland. We obviously only gave him a new contract to keep Kyogo happy because this guy is absolutely woeful.

Going to disagree with you, I think there was plenty of room in behind for a CF, hence the ball getting flashed across the six yard line plenty. But happy to agree to disagree. Maeda played CF when he was top goal scorer in the J-League. I’ve always said he’s either Sunday league or brilliant, there’s no in between

Sums him up. One of the most overrated players I’ve seen play for Celtic. Can’t whack his energy levels, but absolutely * all to him in terms of technical ability

We didnt move the ball quick enough from back to front to exploit any space. My worry is that DM wont be able to perform in Rodgers system.

 

The guys * brutal!!! He can’t operate in anyone’s system. His only attribute is his pace which can only be used to stifle any overlapping fullback from the opposition.

 

The fact we have a guy like this starting every week shows you exactly where we are at the moment.

This might sound ridiculous but what really struck me last week is that Kennedy and Armstrong for Killie were more technically proficient than Maeda or Abada. Not saying they're better players obviously but it highlighted our lack of technique, really shocking without Jota on the wing
