Few of these have been walking about my own place this last few weeks. I would always see one every once and awhile but there's been a few every other day now i've noticed in the morning or when I'm home after work. Few of the mates used to hunt for them and always wondered what they'd taste like. Supposed to be a delicate taste from them. Once caught and killed, I think it's best to hang them for a week or so in a shed before actually eating them for them to taste better. With that said, I've no interest for now to get one so they safe enough about my place for now.

Ah millipedes are completely harmless. A centipede that size and I’d be * myself. :56:

I saw a badly wounded Wood Pigeon this morning on the lane near my house leading up to the local Woods, i knew it was a Sparrowhawk's prey and was proved right as i scanned from above the Female Sparrowhawk came back a few minutes later and finished off her sizable prey. Of course i felt sorry for the Wood Pigeon, but this is the Natural World and a classic example of Prey and Predator.

I remember a good few years ago a Cat and female Sparrowhawk going for a Mistle Thrush at the same time on the local Park near where i used to live, the Cat and Hawk were so stunned by each other the Thrush got away and after briefly glaring at each both potential killers departed swiftly in opposite directions.

Anyway i hope to really open my eyes for the rest of the year and report a whole collection of Wildlife sightings with my partner in crime Ruby Roo of course:84:

No idea what kind of Toad this is? Spotted it at least 500m from the nearest pond. Not what you expect to encounter in central London c16d8e9b-fa7c-4fc0-a29c-e4cb35403404.jpeg

I do this regularly good friend. Nothing better than sitting in my back garden watching, and listening to, nature. It's the greatest soundtrack. Unfortunately, I live in the city so I don't get aas much superb bird/wildlife as you do good friend. What we do have though is a few quite large Lavender plants. I love watching all the different types of Bees going about their daily business.

    I love this thread.

The photos (all of them) are incredible.

We are so lucky to encounter such beauty.

I was out in my back garden yesterday when I saw 4 Housemartins fly over me. I can count on my 2 hands how many Housemartins I've seen this year. Worrying and sad.

A 50,000 strong flock of highly distressed near human type creatures were seen in an angry swarm on Sunday in Glasgow.

The fisherman are told that if they are hooked into a fish and the bear starts heading towards you you cut your line.
