    This was always my worry.

Things turning sour when the results on the pitch started to go against us. Let’s be honest here, the performances so far this year have been utterly unacceptable. Booing already after a drab 0-0 draw at home to St Johnstone. It’s the unfortunate reality of bringing back a man who split the support so much.

Let’s not beat around the bush, the club/board have absolutely fed him to the wolves here. The club had an opportunity to go out and splash serious cash on quality players and what they have done is spend money on further projects, further bloating an already bloated squad.

After all the promises of taking the club to the next level, mentioning teams like Salzburg and Club Bruges, we seem to go back to the * bargain tin. Mental that after guaranteed champions league income and selling your star player for £27m, we are in a position where we are far weaker than we were last season.

Complete incompetence and complete mismanagement from top to * bottom. Rodgers should walk. He’s been given absolutely nothing. He’s not indefensible either, he’s got to take his fair share of the blame for todays result. That team that started should have had more than enough to win today.

    Not good enough.

Can't argue youre wrong there because it's all scarily looks true

I just don't mentally understand it in my head why he would return to this.

I get why Lennon returned, after stating his first time he left due to lack of ambition and support from the board.
    Guy was desperate as *.

I just don't think Rodgers is remotely at that level and needs Celtic.
To accept the conditions he left in, to be good enough for him, baffles me completely.

Im sure his first spell kick started when he got a big result against Rangers and a Moussa Dembele hattrick.

Lennon was gullible, and while his first season post-return was OK, COVID sent him into a depression, and the board left him to fail, using his continued management as a punishment to the fans that wanted Lawwell out. Guy was used like a condom- for the 2. time.

Rodgers is far colder, and agreed to work under this board for career reasons- not out of love for the club like Lennon might have had, at least in traces.

Big week incoming for Brendan. Like it or not, he'll be judged on the rest of the window and the OF game. Needs to turn things around fast.

I have the same feeling I had as we were going for the 10. Lost is the only way to describe my assessment of our team just now.

He's a good coach and a smart guy, surely to * he can see he's no got the players to play the way he wants to effectively yet and just play a system to utilise the players he does have strengths until he can get better ones in.
Fit the system to the strengths of the players who happen to have been incredibly successful rather than just rip things up drastically.

The last time Rodgers was here it was a stroll in the park for him, is there an element of complacency here ?

Reading his comments after the game, I take a bit of encouragement that at least he's recognised how slow our play was and the need to focus on it. As usual it's ifs and buts, but on another day a few of O Riley's efforts go in at least and half the meltdowns on here today and ridiculous sacking chat doesn't happen.

Absolutely. That's why he came here, despite having no assurances regarding big signings.

Said it in the Match thread but getting that early goal was key for us today, the longer the game went on the more frustration there was on the park and in the stands.

It's just such a costly result..

They won't have many home games where they drop points to diddies like St Johnstone..

That 3 point gap was handy so early on. Now we're in a must no lose next week to keep ahead and to build some momentum/stop a run of poor results before the break..

Suppose it’s easy to overlook but we were playing poor (by Ange’s standards) at end of last season, albeit the league was done but we lost our form.

Now it just looks like a continued decline of the team with lesser tactics, injuries and building pressure. Hopefully just a bump in the road but we’ve just lost all momentum and left a lot of work to do.

Hopefully we get the bodies we need in the door but today Turnbull & Maeda should never of started, that’s the worry next week that’ll be the same team and we’ll be looking to a few individuals to come up with some magic instead of playing our football.

It’s worrying but by no means should throw in the towel now, the team needs backed even if we loathe the manager.

Is it a case of Rodgers needing his own players ?
