Not Actually that Crucial a Summer as of August 2023...beginning to now think everything isnt fine!

You’d think after Lennon they would of learnt that appointing a manager that divided the support from the word go doesn’t end well. Get off to a shaky start and the fanbase is on your back.

After this I never want to revisit an ex- manager

All needed. We'll get 1 or 2 after Palma, likely a loan or squad filler. If that's the case then it'll be a disgraceful window.

 

Was it particularly wise for Rodgers to completely give up any control of transfers in the offer to comeback..

His first spell he brought in Sinclair, Kolo etc..

Ange brought in Kyogo, Hatate, Daizen in his first season..

Bringing in your own players in conjunction with more general recruitment works.. rather than being lumped in with all signings you know * all about.

 

We don’t get this week right we may as well call it a bogie and hand them the league cause it’s going to be a long painful season.

Different position, but it's so apparent how we've benefited down the right side with the addition of power/physicality in the form of Alistair Johnson..

Technicality is needed in midfield, but a signing of Johnson's ilk in CM would improve us immediately..

 

It’s not players we need. Its an actual system and identity.

I know that takes time with a new manager, but there’s not even any signs.

 

Still scunnered of how we have got in this position so fast.

Wrong appointment of manager.

Selling our most creative player and not replacing him.

Signing projects.

Manager ruining good players with his * tactics and the way we play.

Management at the club asleep at the wheel.

Our board are at fault for the most part chasing Rodgers like a loved up wee lassie and not recruiting properly.

All the boasting about look how much money we’ve got etc and we * do it on the cheap again. Nearly £15/£16 million spent this summer and we are miles behind.

 

Just don't get why we neglect it.

I sort of understand why Rodgers didn't go for it during his original tenure, he had Prime Brown on the spot, but even then we were screaming for a rotation option.

Fast forward to Lennon, who I still don't understand why he didn't bring one in. Wanyana made his original team, would have made a world of difference, especially during that dreaded Covid Season

Ange not bringing one in was his biggest downfall in Europe, he brought Abildgaard in to satiate the fans then never played him, infuriating.

Now we're here, with not one midfielder I'd classify as strong. It's why the huns signing Cifuentes for £1.5 million * me off, I'd kill for that sort of midfielder.

 

So many players in the current squad who are simply not good enough.

You then look at players like Maeda and Abada who were successful in Ange’s system but they do not suit Rodgers style whatsoever.

This next week will define our season. We need at least 4 in.

When asked if he expected incomings, Rodgers said: “Hopefully. I think it’s clear… I have said before we have improved the squad with some of the players we have brought in, but we have lost starters. So we need to improve the team.



And it’s always a challenge coming off the back of a season where you have won the treble.

“You have got to go again the following season where there is a greater expectation on you and more pressure.

“The fans will expect and rightly so. They were disappointed after the game and I am fully aware that if you draw at home to St Johnstone you deserve that bit of stick.

“There’s no numbers. I spoke with the club when I first came in and assessed the squad and we just need to improve that quality.


It’s clear, if you see the team. When you look back at my first time here; the team was dynamic, it was fast, it was quick, got through the lines very quickly, created chances, scored goals.

“This is what we will eventually get to here, but we are missing certain profiles. Hopefully, we can bring that into the squad and obviously be a lot cleaner and quicker in our play.”

 

Load of pish.

If it was Tynecastle, Easter Road or even Livingston away, I'd understand and put it down to gelling.

It's none of those, it's St Johnstone at home, who will most likely finish dead last. The current team is more than good enough to beat them 10 times over.

 

Football is a funny old game mate.

Can you imagine the current squad in the CL, we will get slaughtered.

 

Mind it was just one result last week though.

Now two results, along with the first two games being dreadful affairs as well.

It's gonna be brutal next week if this is it.

I know we’re all just repeating ourselves at this point but we need 4-5 players to turn this around, all of a really good quality.

This season will be lost over the next 7 days if we don’t sign anyone. Rodgers himself is telling us that, as best he can.

4-5 good signings will give it a good chance.

 

Oddly enough, I don't think a LB, GK or LW would have helped us the last 2 games. The problem is far bigger: we don't have an effective system where players effectively cooperate to achieve desired results. We'll never have perfect players, but Ange beat Scottish teams with a limited Abada and Maeda, with the slow Taylor, and with Ralston being used in season 1.

Will Palma suddenly fix us? Or Lyanco? Leif Davies? Not sure.
