Arsenal will be looking to at least the money they spent on him back you would think

If it was a loan to buy for something like 9 million i would take it definitely. Still one of the best full backs in Europe on his day

I also thought this but did they not let that Torriera go for a few million when they spent 25 on him?

Think if he was to go to another EPL team, then aye.. we may be able to negotiate down..

Why would he take such a hit in wages tho, if we tried to get him on a permanent deal?

I get some are saying he wants home, Celtic minded etc, but still..

Don't see how this would be realistic.

Sadly with his injury record as well, I wouldn't want to see him back under Rodgers and curse he seems to have

With the injuries in defence, we need to make this happen. Gives us the option of playing 3 at the back.

A defense with Tierney, CCV and Johnston in it would be fab

Arsenal will get nowhere near that level.

He's not played consistently since his first season there and they've bombed him out of their training session. They've painted the picture that he's always injured, too.

No one is coming in with £25m for him. No chance.

Arsenal fans loved him at the beginning and wanted him as their captain. Weird how Arteta favoured vastly inferior players when he is fit.

    * Arteta though. Delighted he * the title last year.

I think if we do get him, it'll be Taylor, Tierney, Lagerbielke, Johnston at the back until others are back fit.

Brendan Rodgers has delivered a coy Celticresponse to questions about transfer interest in Kieran Tierney.

The Arsenal defender has fallen completely out of favour under Mikel Arteta and he looks set to depart the Emirates this summer.

Celtic have been linked with a spectacular return for Tierney, while Newcastle and La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have also been talked about as potential locations for the Scot.

Rodgers was quizzed on whether Tierney will return to Celtic today and he did not rule out a move for the Scotland international.

He said: "Listen, I would never speak about Kieran Tierney other than the time I had him here.

"He is an Arsenal player and that is where he is at.

"For himself Kieran will want to play, he is not a young player anymore.

"He is a player that will want to play football no doubt, especially where he was at with Arsenal for his first couple of years. At times he was captaining the club.

They have a really strong squad. Mikel has done a fantastic job there, but for Kieran himself I am sure he will be looking to go out and play.

"That is the way I would see it."

It's looking more and more likely. I just really don't want to get my hopes up.

He'd be an incredible upgrade for the CL, and much needed with all the injuries at the back.

He's an excellent talent and very hardworking but his injury record is quite off-putting for me. I'm not sure we need another injury prone signing at this point.

If there is any possibility that this can happen we have to go for it. When Tierney was here last time he was arguably the best player at the club and he played in some great teams.

If we got KT, alongside CCV, Nawrocki and AJ, that's a * of a backline!

He had surgery last year that seems to have helped his injury issues a little, but still a little hesitant if he'd be fit to play every week. Still worth the gamble for me.

Taylor is still a solid enough option as back up

Athletic reporting that Sociedad are in talks and both clubs are keen for a deal to happen. Tierney apparently open to going to Spain.

Arsenal and Real Sociedad are in talks over a loan move for Kieran Tierney.

The Scotland international, 26, is yet to feature in the Premier League so far this season having not been included in either of the matchday squads.

His last appearance came in the FA Community Shield when he replaced the now injured Jurrien Timber in the second-half.

“It’s not really up to me," Tierney said last month on his future. "I’m happy, I’m working hard every day and getting minutes. I’m just trying to do as well as I can."

Real Sociedad are 13th in the La Liga table after two draws from the opening two fixtures of the season.
