Player Suggestions

Despite the Bodo jinx I would take Solbakken he fits the profile for me in terms of a player that has exposure of playing in the dominant team in the league and as an underdog in Europe and showed up well.

He has pace, dribbling ability and a physical presence. I always thought when he and Hauges went straight to Serie A they could have done with an intermediate step at a club like ours before moving.

 

They seemed to play him through the middle quite a lot instead of out wide which wouldn’t of helped. He’d rip it up here, hope to * we are all over this.

Probably been mentioned before but Leicester are wanting to put Luke Thomas out on loan. Plus he only has a year left on his contract. Is he any good ?

For an attacking 8 with quality and well in our price range Luka Ilic of Troyes could be a good shout.

Still only just turned 24 had a bit of a break through season on loan at TSC back in Serbia who qualified for CL qualifiers. He got 8 goals and 8 assists in 29 games there. Has started this season well in Ligue 2.

He was one of those players in the City group system that

Has an excellent left foot, takes set pieces and has assisted and scored a good few of those. In open play he looks pretty quick over the ground, has excellent technical ability, both in terms of touch and dribbling, is good at getting on the half turn, spotting a through ball and executing and is a pretty decent counter presser. He also times runs into the box well from midfield.

He is also around 6 foot tall, although quite slight in his build.

He is a bit of a late bloomer after standing out at Red Star as a 19 year old Man City snapped him up and he had a few loans to Holland where he was often played out wide. He only has a year left on his deal and has been linked with a move to Empoli in Serie A so I doubt he would be very expensive.

There is a bit of a more mobile Rogic about him.

Anyone seen much of Emil Breivik from Molde?

His stats look very good for a 23 year old midfielder.

 

Wouldn't mind trying to get McTominay on loan too. Would add much needed strength to our midfield..

 

Maybe not what we need right now but this guy looks class. Looks like he’d suit being one of the 2 in a double pivot, alongside a more aggressive, ball winner.

A couple of guys from Alkmaar in the last year of their deals.

Attacking midfielder Dani de Vit still only 25 but a good robust centre midfielder that carries a goal threat, with his runs in to the box and beyond the striker. Is deadly in the air too, especially of timing late runs to meet crosses.

Centre back Pantelis Chatzidiakos, 26 year old Greek international centre back, and it 6’1 good on the ball decent pace. He actually has a hammer of a right foot shot on him too which y come in handy against a low block.

I would have thought they would have been expensive but they sold their star man Karlsson for €11m and both only have that year on their deal left.
