    Here the whole time
The Whole perception of Rodgers improving/ developing players is greatly over exaggerated. I would say his biggest strength over the course of his career is getting an initial reaction out of players already at a club, which after a period of time starts to deteriorate. Happened at us, happened at Leicester and I believe it happened at Liverpool too.

He did improve a handful of players last time around, that can't be denied, Armstrong, Forrest and boyata being the prime examples, but a lot didn't. Some even regressed unde his stewardship, again Armstrong being a prime example, brilliant in the invincible season then decidedly mediocre in the following and he wasn't the only one.

Rodgers has the immediate new manager impact which wears off.in short Rodgers is as much of a short term fix as the others you mentioned. Probably more so as the others have all held jobs for longer periods of time than Rodgers ever has. Not that it had to be a straight choice between the others you mention and Rodgers, surely we could have stretched our search wider than the usual suspects.

    This place man, holy *.

Like, it's been a * few days, no disagreements there, and the lack of anything substantial in the transfer market is also *, but you'd think we were in prime covid times with the reactions.

Let's see where we are on the 4th September, at worst we'll be level on points with the huns, at best we could be between 6-9 points clear.

At either rate, back the manager, throwing a hissy fit saying you're no longer watching games and/or calling him a Rat/Snake is wee guy behaviour, get a grip.

I agree with this, big caveat being if things don't change, but at this stage I have little confidence they will. Sounds dramatic but let's be honest, lots of us didn't want Rodgers in the first place, not because of how he left us, but because of real issues with him as a manager. His style of football isn't as cutting edge or effective as it was 7 years ago, his transfer record is appalling, and he has a habit of creating quite a toxic atmosphere at the clubs he's at. This is not like getting an unknown manager who we can't judge until 6 months in, Rodgers is a known quantity, and while things could and hopefully will change, we are seeing so many of the issues that worried large parts of the support in the first place when he was mooted to come back.

I'm * scunnered to be honest and can't believe how low I feel about things given where the club was at 4 months ago. While I know better objectively and will give him time, I'm already at the stage where I just want him to * off. Hate feeling that way about our manager.

I dont care about how he left. My issue with him coming back was his style of play. We might be only 3 games in but we've already reverted to the crap he served up in his 2nd and 3rd seasons.

Yep this for me too. I thought for some reason he might continue where Ange left off and maybe change things up with different formations. Then I remember watching Leicester last season under him and they were * atrocious..

So far it's just a continuation of when he left which was boring as *.

Definitely concerned but not panicking just yet but if we don't sign players at least suited to his style this is going to be a long season and this place will be absolutely toxic.. its getting there already

Then give him time, it's not a hard concept.

I said this earlier, but Ange lost his first 3 away games and was 10 minutes away from dropping points in his fourth. We were able to see his style of play early, but losing 3 away games on the trot was abysmal, yet fans gave him time and it worked wonders.

Rodgers doesnt have the players for his system, the fullbacks are killing us in games and not starting a creative winger doesn't help. I think Ange is/was more adaptable than Rodgers, but Rodgers can produce good football, first season and second half of the second season prove that.

If it's the exact same turgid football come Halloween, then I'll happily join in berating the guy, but until then I'm willing to give him time to implement his style.

The transfers are a different issue, no idea if that's on Rodgers end, the board or both. Guess we'll see come September.

People saying he won't see out the season, sack him.now etc after 3 games and 1 defeat is absolutely hilarious.

Honestly man I'm never one for judging other fans and how much they support a club but give yourselves a shake. It reeks of being spoilt with success. This is probably the main reason I wouldn't have taken him back is cos of how quickly * would turn on him. "Best fans in the world"

And even if he was to go by Xmas which I don't think he will, it won't justify your comments at this stage.

Mental takes. Despite the obvious issues.

The players don't look like they know what they are doing either. Under Ange we had a style and identity within a few weeks. We didn't always get the results early on but you could see what we trying to do. How many times last season did we say we score that same type of goal all the time.

We've played good football already in spells. I think cos people are comparing to Ange after 2 years of working with ghe team it's clouding their judgement. It wasn't always sunshine and roses with him either but as ever time a d bitterness is clouding peoples memories. The end of last season was gash under him. Why? Cos we had a weakened squad. Coincidence?

Sunday was utterly atomic pish but we should have scored 5 away to Aberdeen and there were dominating spells on the opening day. Pre season was hardly a disaster either. Even then some fine lines with 3 big chances first half on Sunday changes things.

He at least deserves time with hopefully some more additions and a more complete squad before any insane berating.

Yeah Sunday I hadn't a clue what the game plan was and it didn't look like the players did either. We only started to play after we went 1 down. So is the plan to just pass teams to death and hopefully score one.

The lack of attacking football was worrying.

Away to killie is a * of a game so not a disaster just yet but if he doesn't get players that suit his system I think we are in trouble

It's so obvious that the fullbacks are killing any style of play he's trying to go for. I think you can see in spells what he's trying to do, especially with O'Riley, Kyogo and Yang, but you then have Ralston and Taylor passing it backwards every time we try and attack.

It can't help having Maeda and Abada on the wings at the same time either, zero creativity between them (Albeit this is on Rodgers, Yang should be starting atm and we should have had a LW signed shortly after Jota left)

He's also lost CCV, Hatate, AJ, Oh, Welsh and Nawrocki to injuries and Jota/Starfelt have left, talk about rotten luck :90:
