Absolutely agree with you on the positions needed and with getting KT in on loan.

However, I feel you'll be disappointed. 4 in a week in a half, not including weekends shortens the time frame even more.

We're not that slick in the market. We're conservative if anything. 4 good players in 8 days. I just can't see it.

    Love to be proved wrong.

See, I could put down the CB issues as bad luck had we properly filled the other positions.

Thing is, we haven't, zero proper rumours today, 9 days left of the window.

LB, GK and LW needed at an absolute minimum, if Nawrocki is back after the break I don't see us adding another CB, albeit an older, experienced CB for a year wouldn't go amiss either way.

BR wanted 4 CBs, as of right now we have only ONE fit and available and he's been in the door 4-5 days. Ffs

This is genuinely going down as one of the worst summers. I know we've signed a few promising players but looking at where the club was before the Scottish Cup final to now, 9 days before the window shuts, is actually laughable. I'm fed up with it now to be honest, it's total negligence.

Something just doesn't add up for me.
Granted, it's a new manager, he needs time, but times squad we had was more than capable of only needing a few tweaks in the window and like for like for Jota.
How on *'s earth, can we be so lazy in the market. Whe Ange was in, deals were done. Now we're hanging on to look at cast aways in the EPL. Is this Brendans idea and if so, why the * has the scouting team no stepped up. For a manager who said he watched is regularly over the last few years, hes certainly making it difficult.
Why are we so hampered with injuries as well??

Honest to *, I don’t think we are going to make even one or two of the signings required. Genuinely can see it coming.

I’ve seen this movie too many times now.

Refuse to believe that there isn’t a goalkeeper, left back, central midfielder or left winger from Norway, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Greece, Holland currently tearing it up and not completely out of reach.

I get waiting on some quality from the premier league but you’re dealing with huge salaries.. it’s hard to * win these sort of battles for these players. We should be mopping up the best players from these leagues. No need for us to be in this position. Absolutely no need whatsoever.

Nicholson ruining his reputation with one summer.

We should just forget about the premier league, we can no longer afford the wages that the guys who play there want !! One of our problems this season has been signing all these projects when it should have been a case of adding the quality that we needed first, then adding a few projects once we had got rid of some of the deadwood !! The squad feels massive just now but with very little quality or players that can make a difference. It really is unbelievable considering the position that we were in a few months ago !!

When we signed Ange he was able to bring and convince some of the top players in that league to come also.

Do you think if we signed a top manager from say one of the above countries it would also be easier to convince the top talents in that country to come here also.
Maybe thats a trick we missed with Rodgers coming from England.

But regardless if we can spoke a good player by pedigree put to us then so can Rodgers.
The only excuse available is hes waiting for a particular player for that position. We better have a back up lined up just in case.

Maybe it’s through Green Tinted Specs but unless you’re from Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Club Bruges, RB Salzburg and possibly Olmpiacos… you’re wanting to join Celtic. Other clubs in the leagues mentioned aren’t bigger than Celtic.

I’m sick of seeing other teams hoover up all these talents and we seem to pick up the projects from these leagues. Not in any way slagging off Holm because I believe he will be a great player but he’s a prospect. Imagine going and getting someone like Vetlesen… who was probably a project in some form himself but had already proven himself in Europe and was a league winner with Bodo.

Club Bruges get in there, though. For £5m I think I seen. Nakamura was another one. €10m. 68 games for LASK, 26 goals and 5 assists in a competitive league and only 23 years of age. He was your replacement for Jota.

I don’t mind going for “projects”… most clubs in our bracket go for them. Ajax seem to buy the best young project’s going and have spunked £14m on that Carlos Borges from Man City youth team. Now, I think that was too much but there was clearly something special about him and he was one of the most promising players in England. We don’t seem to be for projects who are absolutely excelling. Yang wasn’t really excelling in Korea. Not doubting that he’s showed small glimpses that he may have something about him but you can already tell he’s very raw.

Why didn’t we go out and sign the best young winger in Korea, instead? Pretty sure we were linked with someone who was the exact same age but had far better numbers and had far more games.

    Majorly disappointing.

Really difficult trying to get my head around this summer window so far. And it just seems to fall into the bracket of time and time again the club resting on its laurels and not strengthening from a position of strength. That is itself disappointing but when you factor in guaranteed champions league money selling Jota for 25mil and a new manager its hard to get your head around the lack of investment in the first team with just some, all be it on first impressions, promising squad/project players.
Conditions could literally not have been more perfect. Mooy retires ok let's upgrade that position with someone with more of an engine for Europe. Jota gets sold ok let's replace him and add also another to add depth to the attacking line with another forward. Starfelt goes ok let's upgrade that position. The job in hand has been minuscule compared to the Ange rebuild when he first came in and yet it's been totally fudged!
Unfathomable at this stage with a treble to defend and a champions league to compete in we could be sitting with a first-team less equipped than the one we finished with last year and yet here we are.

We have to assume that we've been working on a lot of these deals for weeks already. If not, then a lot of the descriptions of our window that I thought were hyperbolic in this thread ("disgrace", "unforgivable", etc) will not be hyperbolic at all but 100% on the money.

We are at serious risk of this waiting to the end of the window to try pick up left out EPL players blowing up on us.

Right now you can’t tell me we aren’t able to find a better left back than Greg Taylor, better right back than Anthony Ralston, a better goalkeeper than Hart or a better winger than Maeda?

We could have easily been a position where we were a couple of signings away from being ready for the season. Right now we look not far off half a team from being a good team who I would be confident of winning the league.

Europe is totally out the window our ambition will go from hoping to get a home win against a pot 3 team if we get a kind draw to struggling to stop us taking the crown of the worst CL team ever.

    ———————-new gk———————-
    AJ———ccv—————-gus/maik——-new lb
    ———————-new dm—————————-
    ———hatate——————-mcgregor———-
    New rw————-kyogo—————-new lw

I honestly think this is whats needed before the transfer window slams shut, so 5 first team ready players.

subs can be holm, hart, taylor, ralston, kwon, yang, abada, maeda, oriley, turnbull, oh, welsh, tilio, iwata.

If players arent signed i dread watching the football this season tbh.

I don't think you need a new lw and rw. I think when Jota played he enabled Maeda and Jota to do their thing and they both looked good. With no creative outlet on either side it just doesn't work.
Mind you I also think Kyogo playing deep hampers Maeda's game, needs someone to cut a pass to.

For those who are in love.....
We need a left back of quality in right now..

If we get that and have Johnston on the other side it will help this makeshift centre half partnership..

Also a commanding keeper who's comfortable playing it out to them from the back, which is how the manager wants us to play..

They were already important positions needing strengthened and now they're vital..

Instead of just an 8, someone who can screen the backline in that 6 position..

We need so much to be done in so little time. None of this is even going forward....where we need some big things done as well..
