For all the talk of injuries, lack of competent signings etc the most important lesson that should be learned from yesterday is that no matter the opposition, their players or their tactics the first thing you must do is COMPETE. If they are working hard then we WORK HARDER. If they are going hard into the tackle then we GO HARDER. If they are chasing us down like madmen then we do the same to them. There may be more talented players out there but there should never be players who are more determined, fitter or who work harder. Stein knew that and it was one of the reasons his sides were so successful. Kilmarnock won yesterday not by the skill or dexterity of their play but because they worked their socks off and basically wanted it more. That is the saddest aspect of yesterdays result.

They won because they elbowed one of our players in the head and he had to go off for treatment. They had an advantage of the extra body and took it, even at that it was possibly offside. As * as we were, I don't think they were beating us without that very lucky turn of VAR (not redding that wee rat and not ruling out the goal- that he set up, on the side our player was meant to be)

Yeah - at one point Kilmarnock hoofed it forward and the first bounce actually went back towards them, and their own player completely missed it. That shouldn't be allowed. There are plastic pitches a whole lot better than that.

We weren't up for it on the day, can blame refs or the pitch but at the end of the day we didn't play well

Totally agree. I have said it many times before it kills the game as a spectacle regardless of the result I would be and have long said the same.

Plus the PK which VAR refused to give us right at the end.

Aye, I agree. Just pointing out I doubt they'd have scored if it wasn't for their benefiting from a brutal attack- that should have actually seen them down to 10.

Probably your right there as well. As bad as we were attack wise they were equally brutal on a pitch that makes a mockery of the game.
