He's not a winger similar to Maeda. His positioning though is first class.

Could be another that Brendan might see as a striker in the fullness of time.

Not sure why but not entirely convinced by him. Maybe because I’m not sure what his position is. There’s no doubt he has potential and sniffs out a goal or 5, not sure he’s a winger, never a CF, not a 10. Not sure where his position should be but if anyone can BR can sort that out.

His numbers last season were excellent, clearly not the finished article, hoping Rodgers will improve his overall game, particularly his final product in the last third.

Israeli international Abada was set to be offered an improved deal last season but those talks were shelved under Postecoglou. It had looked like Abada could be sold but the arrival of Rodgers has given him a new lease of life.

The winger has been linked with interest from Germany and France in recent weeks but Celtic are looking to kill that off. The 21-year-old still has a deal until 2026 but that is set to be enhanced from the deal when he arrived from Maccabi Petah Tikva back in 20201.

Abada has become a big player for the club and a regular goal scorer and creator in recent seasons. Captain Callum McGregor has also recently been handed a new five year deal earlier this summer.

Not gonna lie, he's looked really poor so far.

I thought he'd be one that'd go up a level under Rodgers, but he doesn't look any better so far.

Only 3 games in of course, and he might start flourishing with Johnston behind him, but for now he looks miles off it.

I sometimes think I’m in the minority of one on him. He doesn’t score he does literally nothing, in fact it’s worse than nothing because his decision making is that *.

We could do so much better.

We need a far better first choice than him, can score goals but all round play is pish and his final ball has been atrocious since he arrived.

He's come up with some big goals for us. To that extent his movement and ability to find space in dangerous positions is probably his greatest strength.

But as a winger he's hopless. Can't beat a man, can't carry the ball, can't cross, picks the wrong pass too often.

    Very limited.

Yet to see how Rodgers is supposedly meant to take his game up to another level.

We should have been looking to upgrade on both Abada and Maeda this summer. But we're now in the position where they're out first choice wingers.

    Pitiful all round.

    Extremely limited..

Was desperate for a starting, creative type even if he stayed because of how lacking Abada was/is. Preferably a left footer..

The thought of him and Maeda all season knocks me sick..

    We know his limitations.

    We also know his strengths.

It's the managers job to play to the strengths and avoid the weaknesses.

Perhaps if we played some of those long balls in behind that we seem so obsessed with, to him rather than that useless, talentless * on the other side mite be a * start

How can you play to his strengths when they are limited to nicking the odd goal!!!???? He can’t beat a man, has no real pace, can’t cross the ball, powder puff, doesn’t help out defensively…..he’s young aye I get that but he is very limited.

When he’s not scoring tap ins he’s literally doing nothing. Can hardly even remember him touching the ball today, for as * as Maeda was at least he is normally available for it and sees a bit more of the game. Abada literally does nothing.

That’s why he was very rarely a starter under Ange, he understood he is a very limited footballer. You are definitely in the minority, he’s an empty jersey.

Said it multiple times. Him and Maeda can't be the wingers on the same pitch. Neither of them are creative enough. Both best at finding space at the back post or in behind. We need wingers to create and they don't do that enough

No M8. I've never rated him as well. Will score the odd goal here and there but overall not good enough. We definitely need better
