As much as iv been impressed with what iv seen of Holm in particular, we need better than promising. Especially having lost Jota.

Its a big ask but we need at least one signing of a Sinclair, Dembele, etc ilk. It isnt beyond us.

 

I've no inside info mate. Just a firm belief that Rodgers didn't come back without assurances

I've said for weeks that the players we want will have options.

Risky strategy for sure but I'm certain we have it covered.

With South Korean striker Oh currently injured, Rodgers only has one recognised centre-forward available to him in star man Kyogo. He might go into the market for a striker before September 1 but revealed that if he’s short in that area, he’s got faith in Japanese ace Daizen Maeda to fill in.

Rodgers: “You have to be careful because you can have too many strikers. I’ve seen a lot of Daizen and I really like the look of him in that position.

I think he’ll score goals and there’s a reason why he’s playing as a central striker for Japan. In pre-season he was excellent there for us. So if we’re ever in trouble or we need him there, he’s an international striker.

“We’ve got Oh as well as Kyogo and there’s the possibility to play others there as well. You can only keep so many strikers happy. Normally, they all want to play.

“So when Oh is fit, and we’ve got Kyogo and Daizen, we’ll have numbers there.”

A crucial window just got more serious.

As time has rolled on, deals done, we are 100% weaker.

We are going to be humiliated in the CL. We are weak in the middle of the park. And devoid of any creativity.

 

I've defended the clubs approach to transfers more than most, but today highlights the major, major deficiencies we have at the club.

Rodgers isn't blameless obviously, but 2 of the fullbacks clearly don't work in his system and our system is crying out for a creative winger.

The club obviously thought they'd get away with it, they haven't, we've lost the League cup already.

Lose against the huns and fans will completely turn on the club, a month into the new season.

When Lennon lost to Cluj, it was a massive wake-up call for us, this needs to be the same.
