Is it not just along the lines of kyogo being far easier to say, as in ccv and jota rather than Cameron carter vickers and jaao pedro neves Filipe

I'm low on O'Riley and Turnbull, especially when they start together in midfield. Not enough mobility/defensive cohesion for my liking. I think we'd be better off with 2 undustrious box-to-box midfielders in the mold of Hatate/Holm/young McGregor.

On the other hand, I'm high on Iwata. I believe our best midfield trio is Iwata at DM with McGregor on his left and Hatate on his right. If Ange were still in charge, I bet Iwata would have been playing plenty of minutes at DM this season. I'm also very high on Maeda. He might be the most explosive footballer I've seen in my life including world-class players like Mbappe, Messi, Ronaldo, prime Gareth Bale, Mane, Salah, you name it. If only Maeda were a bit more crafty with the ball at his feet. But then again, chances are he wouldn't have been playing for Celtic.

    O.......Kay.

Think that's my stint in this thread done for awhile

Iwata the DM answer and Maeda the most explosive player on the planet.

    Controversial thread right enough :giggle1:

Nope. Definitely Gordon I was talking about.

I've also admitted in another thread I don't remember what happened in half the games I've seen Celtic play. Maybe it's the half Gordon Marshall played :39:?

Well, you know, the kind of people and institutions I feel actual hatred for these days can only be discussed in HP&R not Celtic Chat. If I were to lose my mind and post in there, you'd be surprised how many issues there are where I literally despise both sides. :56:

I would love to see you lose your * in H&P. I only warned you to stay away for your own sanity but feel free to go nuts.

The thought of Princess Gargamel going rogue in that section would be peak TC.

No, I think you are and were 100% right. All joking aside, I genuinely don't think HP&R would be good for my mental health.

Few people trapped in there already, doubt they'll ever be able to adapt to normal life again when they get back.

Dave isn't on here these days. I don't think so anyway. I would smell that sneaky contrarian * a mile away.

100% agree, and it would’ve happened well before now if he hadn’t left in the manner he did.

There's controversial and there's just talking * drivel non stop.

Ange was in charge last season when Iwata was at the club and played him as the DM maybe twice. What exactly has he shown to make you believe he's part of our strongest midfield 3?

Putting Iwata in ahead of O'Riley is actually quite funny.

I think you're right about Ange.

As for MON, I'm maybe a little less convinced for the timed being, but I hope you are right as that would mean that next May, we're going to Dublin, baby!

I’d take longevity and consistency over a relatively short peak though. And overall I do think Forster was the better goalie for us.

At his peak, maybe yes. Overall, I would have to respectfully disagree. Unlike so many positions, GK is one where there is a tonne of stats that can historically be found, and while I accept they are not the be all and end all in defining a good 'keeper, it does give something of a decent indication in some of these areas.

Boruc 87 clean sheets in 222 games (39.19%)
Forster (both stints combined) 119 clean sheets in 236 games (50.42%)

Forster's mark includes a Celtic record for consecutive minutes in League play without conceding (1259min) including 13 consecutive league clean sheets (and 10 across all comp on the trot during that run) in 2013/14. FTR and by comparison, Boruc's best clean sheet streak was 5 (in all comps and a couple of times doing 4 straight in the league).

I get that GK is more than just being about clean sheets, but that is a pretty big part of the job description and overall discrepancy. Of all the GK that have played 15 games or more for Celtic, only a handful had a better CS% than Forster. Boruc's CS% puts him 21st on that list.
